Terrano 2013-2017 XV Premium 110 PS Anniversary Edition Review
Indian automobile market witnessed a slew of launches this festive season from several automobile companies. Now, Nissan India too made it to the headlines by launching an anniversary edition of its SUV model, Terrano in the car bazaar. This latest edition is limited to 450 units only and at the same time individuals can book the vehicle online at a nominal price. It comes with a styling package including contrasting black roof, stylish decals, chrome door handles and Head-up display. However, these features are available for the XV grade variants only. Among these, Nissan Terranno XV Premium 110 PS Anniversary Edition is the fully loaded variant. It is powered by the 1.5-litre, dCi diesel engine, which is capable of producing 108.5bhp in combination with a hammering torque output of 248Nm. This anniversary edition trim is available in five exterior paint options including Bronze Grey, Blade Silver, Fire Red, Storme White and Sterling Grey to choose from. It is packed with several advanced features like an air conditioning unit with heater, height adjustable driver seat, rear parking sensors and a proficient music system with speaker and various input options. It will now compete with the likes of Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari Storme, Renault Duster in the country's profitable car market. It is also available with a standard warranty of 2-years or 50,000 kilometers (whichever is earlier).
Exteriors:
This newly introduced trim has a captivating external appearance owing to the stylish body decals and chrome inserts. Its roof along with the pillars and the external wing mirrors have been treated in contrasting black finish. In addition to this, its bonnet is now decorated with black stripes, which further adds to its sporty look. The side profile remains mostly identical to its earlier version but its door handles are not garnished in chrome. Furthermore, it is also fitted with an aluminum foot step, which makes it easy to ingress and egress. Coming to the rear, its tail entry guard is now treated with chrome and is embedded with 'Terrano' lettering. Furthermore, it also has a black roof spoiler accompanied by third brake light, which adds to its exclusiveness. Apart from these its remaining features have been retained.
Interiors:
The interiors of this Nissan Terrano XV Premium 110 PS Anniversary Edition variant are done up elegantly with a two tone beige and black color scheme. It is designed with a huge cabin space that can accommodate five people with ease. The leg room is quite good, while the shoulder space is also decent. It has well cushioned seats that are covered with beige colored leather upholstery . The fabric door trims, decorative silver painted insert on steering wheel and door armrests with zebra wood finishing further adds to its classiness. The neatly designed dashboard houses a stylish instrument panel, glove box compartment and a center console that is fitted with an audio unit. The gear shift knob as well as steering wheel are wrapped with premium leather. The chrome plating for inside door handles and glossy piano black finish for the center fascia gives an appealing look to its interiors. The cabin also includes a few utility based aspects like a cigarette lighter, front seat back pockets, parcel tray, cup holders on floor console, rear reading lamps and a 12V power outlet, which is useful for charging mobile phones and other electronic devices.
Engine and Performance:
The automaker has loaded this variant with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that has the total displacement capacity of 1461cc. It carries 4-cylinders, sixteen valves and is based on a double overhead camshaft valve configuration. This mill is integrated with a common rail direct injection system. It has the ability to return a maximum mileage of 19.01 Kmpl when the vehicle is driven on bigger roads. This mill is skillfully paired with 6-speed manual transmission gear box that makes gear shifts quite easier. The maximum power produced by this motor is 108bhp at 3900rpm, while it generates a peak torque output of 248Nm at 2250rpm, which is quite good considering the Indian road and traffic conditions.
Braking and Handling:
The car maker has equipped its front wheels with a set of conventional disc brakes, while the rear ones have been paired with drum brakes. It is also integrated with an anti lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution and brake assist system, which helps to keep the vehicle agile by improving its braking mechanism. Its front axle is fitted with an independent McPherson strut system and the rear axle is paired with torsion beam suspension. Furthermore, both the axles are loaded with coil springs and anti roll bars, which enables it to deal with all the jerks caused on roads. The car maker is offering this variant with an electro-hydraulic power assisted steering, which is highly responsive and supports a turning radius of just 5.2-meters.
Comfort Features:
This variant is equipped with a lot of refined features, which gives a pleasurable driving experience to the occupants. It has an advanced air conditioning unit with rear AC vents and pollen filter. The manufacturer has given it a sophisticated 2-DIN music system, which supports CD/MP3 player radio with AM/FM tuner, USB interface, Aux-in port and Bluetooth connectivity. Its leather wrapped multi-functional steering wheel is mounted with call and audio control buttons. Apart from these, it is bestowed with adjustable rear seat head restraints, foldable rear seat backrest, lumbar support for driver seat, an advanced driver computer and several other aspects.
Safety Features:
Being the top end variant, this Nissan Terrano XV Premium 110 PS Anniversary Edition is bestowed with a number of protective aspects that keeps the vehicle as well as its occupants safe. It has 3-point seat belt along with retractor for all passengers and also has a 2-point center seat belt as well. For enhancing the safety quotient in case of any accidents, the company has blessed it with airbags for driver and front co-passenger. Its rigid body structure has side impact beams that gives extra protection to the occupants inside. The advanced engine immobilizer safeguard this utility vehicle from any unauthorized entry. Apart from these, it also has a high mounted third stop lamp, rear defogger, reverse parking sensors , driver seat belt and door ajar warning on instrument panel and a pair of radiant front fog lamps.
Pros:
1. Addition of body decals gives it a refined look.
2. Reverse parking sensors add to its advantage.
Cons:
1. Initial cost of ownership is high.
2. Fuel economy is not up to the mark.

- Very Good CarI love the Car soo much excellent car full to speed beautiful look........The only thing lagging in making this car perfect is the automatic transmission. Other than that the car is an absolute perfection and the looks that it has makes it such an eye catcher to travel around the town with. I feel a very proud owner of the car as it is perfect.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Car is fine but the agency's service is not good.Hey guys! I bought a new Nissan Terrano on 11 December 2013. Till I bought the car the company helped me in each way or the other but when I came for the first service they started behaving like I'm their servant not they are mine. They are is no good system to complain and they their self say that it's a type of governmental work. I'll suggest you not to buy the car. I had bought it for something around 14 lacs but now if I try to sell it, they bid it around 6-7 lakhs, which is less than. even half the price I bought. The car becomes a shit after around 60k kms and 3 years. Today I was driving the car and I was supposed to stop at traffic light, the car was still on but at rest. As I tried to accelerate it, I came to know that engine turned off itself and when I tried to start the engine again it couldn't.I felt the problem was with battery because last time when I took it to agency they said that the problem was with battery. So, I got it replaced with a new original battery but the problem still persisted . There was a huge jam because of that. When I took it to agency, they said the problem is with self. But when I told them that what's the use of self after the car is on. But they didn't listened to me and still believed that they were examining the car rightly. Then I asked them how much time will it take the car to be repaired and they said around 7 days at least because the part is not available easily. Remember I'm not a liar, I'm serious. I will like to tell you that don't waste lacs of your rupees for buying this car. Till buying the car, the company told me that it's maintains cost is negligible but it has costed me more 1.5 lakh. Are we mad and just earn to waste our money? I'm very disappointed with the car. I will suggest you to buy a car of Toyota company. It really feels great. They serve you the best. Take least time to repair the car. Give value to our money and the maintainence cost is reasonable. I have a 7-year old Innova and still it's engine and other parts are in great shape. Also never buy a car with lots of sensors. It increases the maintenance cost to a huge extent. Buy a car with reasonable or least sensors. Be sure it simple but comfortable. Terrano is good looking and a handsome car, no doubt but it will never make you feel that you have invested your money at right thing. I'm not any company official but just like you, who wants a car that can fit into my needs. So, to make you convenient I also have given you a alternative to buy a car belonging to Toyota company as it's worth buying.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo

- Sturdy ride, noisy and uncomfortableI am driving terrano from last 2 years, I thought it is going to be smooth ride as it is an SUV but cranking noises are irritating me now from break pedal and from seat belt holder, customer support is good but still the issues are not resolved. I would have opt honda city top model instead of spending same amount on purchasing this noisy, uncomfortable ride.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
