Toyota Etios Liva is a popular hatchback available in the Indian automobile market, which is doing quite well for the automaker. Now, in a bid to augment its sales, the company has rolled out its facelifted version in the car bazaar. Among several trims available, its Toyota Etios Liva GD is the mid range diesel variant. Powering this trim is the 1.4-litre diesel motor, which is paired with a five speed manual transmission gearbox. This variant received quite a few updates in terms of its interiors and exteriors as well. At the same time, it is now available with dual front SRS airbags along with driver's seatbelt notification as standard. In addition to these, this trim is also equipped with aspects like a digital clock, headlamp-on notification and door ajar warning function, which further enhances the conveniences. In terms of interiors, its seats are now covered with a new fabric upholstery, which gives a plush appeal to the cabin. As far as its exteriors are concerned, its front facade is now fitted with a refurbished radiator, which emphasizes its new appeal. The car maker has placed this vehicle in the entry level sedan segment where it will lock horns with the likes of Ford Classic, Chevrolet Sail and Fiat Linea Classic. Exteriors:

The side and rear profiles of this variant remains identical to its predecessor, as it received no updates. However, its front facade is now fitted with a redesigned chrome radiator grille, which is the only exterior update. It is flanked by the same headlight cluster, which is equipped with conventional halogen lamps and turn indicators. The front bumper too remains to be the same with a wide air dam that has provision for incorporating fog lamps . The company's logo has been repositioned in the center and is complimented by expressive lines on the bonnet. Its side profile has attractive features like body colored door handles and external wing mirrors along with black B pillars. Its wheel arches have been fitted with a set of steel wheels, which are further equipped with full wheel covers. The rear profile remains same as its earlier version, as there are no updates gives to this facet. Its tailgate is quite large, which is decorated with a horizontal chrome strip. Surrounding this is the radiant taillight cluster, which houses high intensity brake lamps and turn indicators. This hatchback has a total length of 3775mm along with a width of 1695mm and a height of 1510mm. Its minimum ground clearance is 161mm, whereas the wheelbase is quite long with 2460mm. At present, it is available in a total of seven exterior paint options including Vermilion Red, Ultramarine Blue, Harmony Beige, Classic Grey, Symphony Silver and White.

Interiors:

This Toyota Etios Liva GD trim has a spacious internal cabin, which is done up in a dual tone color scheme. The seats are now covered with a new fabric upholstery . This diesel motor has the ability to produce a peak power output of 67.1bhp at 3800rpm along with a commanding torque output of 170Nm between 1800 to 2400rpm. It is mated with an advanced 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that sends the torque output to its front wheels. This hatchback has the ability to deliver a mileage in the range of 18 to 23.59 Kmpl, which is quite good. This hatchback can achieve a top speed of approximately 145 to 150 Kmph, while breaching the 100 Kmph speed mark from a standstill in about 15 to 16 seconds.

Braking and Handling:

Its front wheels are fitted with a set of ventilated disc brakes, while the rear ones have been coupled with drum brakes, which works fine in on any road condition. On the other hand, its front axle is fitted with a McPherson Strut, whereas its rear one is coupled with a torsion beam. It also has a highly responsive electric power assisted steering system, which supports a minimum turning radius of just 4.8 meters.
