- Great Car for driving....but Interior lags in a wow factor!Well the Etios family is dominant in the market as taxis and 2nd vehicles, all the models have almost same features except the dimensions. Liva is a good car. I have completed about 9000km in the odo in the last 6 months. Liva is mostly good for daily uses.Pros: Good Handling, Safety (Has standard dual airbags and ABS for Diesel variants ) , Good fuel efficency, Comfortable front row seats, Good visibility, Boot space is adequate, good suspension, Engine has a cover(which is missing in the mid variants of the INNOVA CRYSTA (20 lakhs) as well), better looking alloys.Cons: Engine is not "torquey" as on paper, hard to pick up from steep slopes and produces some " not so good" sounds in these conditions,Diesel engine is not refined, poor interior quality, spare Tyre does not have an alloy, which makes it look it ugly after a change, Headlamps do not provide great visibility in highways, Instrument cluster looks blank, the glove box is stuck( I don't know why but going to get it fixed for the next service), lacks for small space for nick knacks like coins and toll tokens, rear seats lacks a central arm rest which makes long ride uncomfortable, the front grill looks lame in the same body colour and does not give a top end feel for the car( I changed the grill with the etios sedans chrome finished one),Overpriced when compared to feature lists. The car is more good in daily basis of an average 60 km per day. The Diesel motor needs to be more refined. Needs a touchscreen navigation system which is there with even a 4 lakhs KWID. Also we can see many cost cutting like the blackouts of the B- pillar are with vinyl, The steering mounted audio control is not much useful for me as there is no mute function, call attend and decline functions. The mileage is good I get about 16 kmpl in city and 20 kmpl in highway. As it is a white car we should wash it every week.Overall the car has a great stance only due to the "TOYOTA" logo on it . The cars of Toyota are Reliable in any situations, it would never be a loss of money. The other competitors like the Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Bolt, etc. have more features but don't have the brand reliability like TOYOTA. I belive in Toyota as I am a previous owner of an Innova which has never landed me in trouble with major issues.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Hats of to ToyotaWe bought our car in August 2014 and we have done travel of 13k km till now. We go to our home town, which is around 750 km from Indore. We visit there twice in a year. Interestingly, we don't even feel tired when we reach our destination. People say that the mileage in this car is very poor but I get around 17-19kmpl on thehighway with AC on and around 12-15kmpl in city in the same condition. I think it is enough for the engine of this size. The high speed stability is very good in Liva. I normally drive around 110 -140 kmph on thehighway and the car feels planted and under control. I especially liked the sporty rear of the car. The rear seating is fabulous. Seating three in the back seat is not an issue at all. There is lots of legroom and shoulder room. One suggestion would be to control engine and wind noise which can be improved by sealing the cabin more effectively. At the time of purchase, I also checked the Maruti Swift but it was 60k expensive than this one and rear seating was hopeless, legroom too is ridiculous on back seat. Besides, the back rest angle is very bad, no abs, no music system, boot space is lowest in its class at 209 litres. So I had gone for Liva and it was a good decision. Service expenditure is very low, 2800 Rs for paid and 1300-1500 Rs when it's in warranty. Toyota's service is customer friendly. Overall a strong package. I rate this car 9 out of 10.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Useful car review!Look and Style I bought a liva G (petrol) in dec 2011 n have driven around 10500 kms till now. Since i'm pretty satisfied with my car, i thought i'll share it here. i'm happy with the looks of liva, i do turn back n look at it once i park n go! interiors could have been better, as in a little more posh..since spending over 5 lacs should make u feel a little more good.. think the livas these days have biege interiors..mine was grey, pretty dull. Comfort There is no other cosy car for me than liva..being over 6ft, i can easily fit my legs..the rear seat leg room is fantastic..n d rear seat can fit 4 medium built adults when needed..no need to say d comfort for 3! Pickup Pickup is a bit low compared to cars like swift, but i think its good enough.. Mileage Liva is pretty fuel efficient on highways..18.3 is what the company says n i get mileage of 17 to 18 on highways with 25% ac.. cities, its variable..i get 12 to 13 with 25%ac.. Best Features Best thing about the drive is the steering is very sensitive n it makes for an effortless drive.. Needs to improve Interiors could be improved.. as i said, i think they have changed it a bit in the 2012 versions. Oh ya, the ground clearance is a prob when the car is fully loaded..i told the toyota ppl n they said research is on :D Overall Experience this is my first car, n it turns out to be my first love.. happy n satisfied! i recommend it!Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Liva- The awesome package!Look and Style : Great looks and while interior plastics may be a bone of contention for many trust me it looks not so bad and it boils down to your preferences. For example the new Swift is horribe for the people at the back bench because the rear window is really tiny. You feel like you are in a jail! Comfort : Very comfortable. There is lot of chatter of external noise coming inside the cabin etc etc all is a complete untrue pic. I drove the Liva twice and o two diff days the last being yesterday. It is as good as any other car. Infact as far as space is concerned I must put this on record that Liva is the ONLY car in India which welcomes the fifth passenger lovingly. We sat in all brands including i10,i20,punto and of course swift. Nothing I repeat nothing comes even a distant second as far as space is concerned to the Liva Pickup- Believe it or not when I took a Test Drive of the pertol model (G) there were 7 people in all and the car was still willing to play ball and did not feel sluggish once it got going. And believe me we all come from a well endowed background...physically that is :-) Mileage : While I only took a TD hence cannot comment on this much. But irrespective of the claim all petrol engines nowadays deliver an efficiency of 11-13 kmpl in city and the Liva should be no different. Best Features : I think space at the back because the floor is very very flat is the best feature. Plus the company provides two speakers and two tweeters as a factory fitting in G model hence you have to just buy the system and not the speakers. The steering is feather touch and moving around in the city is really a song! Needs to improve : Three things probably...one is the dashboard more in terms of its look second the outside door handles..can be replaced with more contemporary ones and lastly a light in the middle of the cabin will be a welcome addition. Despite this thr Liva makes for a great package and should definetly be on the shopping list for every practical car buyer Overall Experience : Absolutely wonderful. A highly underrated car! Give it a tryRead MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Toyota Etios Liva a nice car at affordable priceLook and Style I was looking for a good looking fuel efficient car at an affordable price and finally I have settled down with the new Toyota Etios Liva. Toyota Etios Liva price (on road) was around Rs 4.02 lakh. Its around two months since I purchased my new car. The exterior of the Toyota Etios Liva is not just attractive but also well balanced. I am very much impressed with its design. Comfort This is where this car scores a bit low. But the quality of the interiors are not very very bad either, they are just okay. I can place it just above Ford Figo and below all other hatchbacks. The comfort level provided by the car is not best in class. The car also lacks a automatic climate control AC. Pickup The engine used in this hatchback is very responsive and exhibits the true class of Toyota. One has to rely on 1st gear. However, once one can move to 3, 4 and 5th gear, it is a fun car to drive. Mileage Talking about the fuel efficiency my Toyota Etios Liva provides me a mileage of 18 Kmpl on highways and around 16 Kmpl on city conditions. Best Features The feature I like most in my Toyota Etios Liva is its looks and price. Apart from this it is a very fuel efficient car. As high fuel efficiency is a boon where the petrol prices are on hike. Furthermore, Gear shifting of the car is a breeze. Needs to improve I am quite unhappy with the interiors of the car. The interiors are not very comfortable and have ordinary looks. Overall Experience Although I am quite unhappy with its interiors but overall I think in the recent market scenario its very difficult to get a good looking car, fuel efficient car at such a affordable price.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
