Innova 2.5 GX (Diesel) 8 Seater Review
One of the largest automaker in the world, Toyota has rolled out the facelifted version of its flagship MPV model
Toyota Innova in India. This facelifted version of Toyota has been rolled out in three trim levels with seven and eight seater option out of which, Toyota Innova GX (diesel) 8 seater trim is the entry level trim and it is powered by the BSIV based 2.5-litre engine that comes with a total displacement capacity of about 2494cc and produce great power while yielding commanding torque. This facelifted version has received quite a lot of tweaks on both its front and rear ends. The front end of this MPV received a new bolder design radiator grille along with a brand new design bumper and improved headlight cluster that changes the overall frontage. Coming to the interior cabin section, this MPV has received a slightly improved cabin with plush environment that would make the journey luxurious and quite comfortable. No update has been given to the overall technical specifications or mechanism of this MPV. The safety and security features of this particular trim are top rated as the Toyota bestowed this four wheeler GOA body design that offers unparalleled protection to the occupants inside.
Exteriors :
Coming to the exterior design and styling, the new Toyota Innova 2.5 GX (Diesel) 8 Seater trim comes with a contemporary body design and style. Its front facade is blessed with a trendy design headlight cluster that has sharp edges, which makes it look aggressive. This headlight cluster surrounds the large radiator grille that is painted in body color. The design of the radiator grille is bolder and more expressive that changes the view of entire front profile. Just below this radiator grille there is a body colored bumper that has been equipped with fog lights and air dam. The company has fitted the body colored chin guard adds to the sporty appeal of this MPV. The side profile of this MPV remains entirely the same as the existing version and it is blessed with body colored side moldings,
door handles and the ORVMs . The wheel arches have been bestowed with 15 inch steel wheels covered with full wheel caps that completes the side profile. The rear profile of this MPV gets the improved design taillight cluster along with a rear garnish with reflectors fitted on the boot lid. The design of the rear bumper too gets the re-treatment that changes the overall view of this four wheeler.
Interiors :
The interior design of the facelifted Toyota Innova is quite beautiful that will offer a pleasant feel to all the occupants inside. The cabin space is incredible and it will provide seating for about seven passengers with 2+3+3 seating arrangement. The seats fitted inside the cabin are very wide and have been covered with premium fabric upholstery. The design of the dashboard is quite attractive and it has been bestowed with sophisticated equipments such as instrument cluster, air conditioner and so on. There is a four-spoke that is decorated beautifully with chrome plated company logo on top of it. There are several number of utility based functions offered inside this MPV that include a clock, tachometer, trip meter, 12V power outlet, glove box compartment, driver and passenger sun visor, front map lamp with overhead storage console and lots more. This particular trim also got the cigarette lighter,
Urethane garnished gearshift knob , integrated speaker and few other necessary features.
Engine and Performance :
The Toyota Innova GX (Diesel) 8 Seater trim is powered by a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder, in-line diesel power plant that is accompanied with a turbocharger and incorporated with a common rail fuel injection system. This engine has the ability to produce
2494cc of displacement capacity that enables the engine to churn out a maximum 100.6bhp of power at 3600rpm while generating 200 Nm of peak torque in between 1200 rpm to 3600rpm. This engine went through the Bharat Stage IV emission norms and complied with it, which means better performance, low carbon emission and improved fuel efficiency. The company has fitted this engine with an advanced 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that powers the front wheels of this MPV and returns a great mileage of about 12.99 Kmpl.
Braking and Handling :
The facelifted version of the Toyota Innova is blessed with a proficient braking mechanism in the form of disc and drum braking combination. The disc brakes are fitted to the front wheels while the drum brakes are equipped to the rear wheels. These brakes gain further assistance from the advanced
anti-lock braking system that prevents the locking of wheels and enhances the braking mechanism. On the other hand, the company has fitted the front axle with double wishbone type of suspension system while the rear axle has been fitted with four link type of suspension assisted by lateral rod. This suspension system will make it easier for the driver to handle this MPV with ease. Furthermore, the handling aspects are enhanced by the power steering that is highly responsive.
Comfort Features :
The Toyota Innova GX trim is blessed with an amazing set of comfort features that returns complete value for money. The Japanese automaker has bestowed this trim with a list of features including a manual air conditioner with heater along with rear air conditioning vents, power steering with tilt function,
power windows with driver side auto down function , power door locks, back sonar, key less entry system and few others. The company blessed this particular trim with glove compartment, sun visor, 12V power outlet, cigarette lighter, clock, and few other utility based functions. These comfort features will never let the occupants inside to experience any sort of discomfort while on the go.
Safety Features :
As far as the safety features are concerned, this particular trim has been blessed with sophisticated GOA body design that is rigid and ensures maximum safety of the passengers inside. Also the company has incorporated this particular trim with SRS air bags, an engine immobilizer system that keeps this MPV away from theft, an anti lock braking system for preventing locking of wheels and few others. These safety functions are good enough to protect the occupants inside from major damages.
Pros : Refreshing new exteriors, comfortable interiors.
Cons : Safety aspects needs to improve, poor mileage and expensive price tag.

My innova is intelligent car when i unlock button on remote it start 30 seconds automatically lock system with security. I have bought used car innova in chandigarh with emi.That's why i have bought 55 inch sony tv that we have shifting. My innova is MPV Multi Premier Vehicles.AND FAMILY Car driver we use ac air conditioner cool interior car cool. Innova sound is good speaker surrounding every time. I have to turn on alarm system remote control. I also connect bluetooth to multimedia syster with back rear camera with no sensor it original all condition. - DREAM CARIn a country like India, you expect a carmaker like Toyota to be known for its small cars or entry-level sedans ? but unfortunately this Japanese carmaker got those form factors to our market. The big-T had a completely different strategy for India and it made its mark in our market by providing the most trusted people-carriers ever seen in this space ?the Innova. The latter has had such a stronghold in the market that any new player would have to think ten times before developing a product to compete with this workhorse. Now, Toyota has given the Innova a cosmetic makeover though ? since new, better equipped vehicles like the Tata Aria and/or better value-for-money products like the Mahindra Xylo facelift, Nissan Evalia/Ashok Leyland Stile, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga etc. are warming their palms to grab the Innova?s market share. Let?s see how things have shaped up Well, speaking of the shape, the Innova is still the same people-carrier van that you have seen for over six years now. However, with the facelift, Toyota has tried to give the Innova a more car-like fascia. So what you get is a new front end that looks much similar to the new Camry and Corolla Altis. The headlights aren?t diagonal, wedge-shaped units anymore ? instead they are horizontal and upright and wrap around the corners of the front end. The grille too is more upright now to gel with the re-profiled headlights. The bumpers have been redesigned too and get new fog lamp housings.
