What is the latest update on the Tata Tigor?

The Tata Tigor has been given a MY 2025 update which includes new features like a floating 10.25-inch infotainment display, a new instrument cluster, LED headlights, a 360-degree camera and a new 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. These updates come alongside the introduction of new variants and a price revision for some existing ones, making them more expensive by Rs 20,000.

Tata Tigor price in India 

The Tata Tigor is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom). With a manual gearbox, it is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 8.5 lakh. It is also offered with a CNG kit option, starting at Rs 7.60 lakh with the manual and Rs 8.85 lakh with the automatic. Prices for the AMT variants range from Rs 7.25 lakh to Rs 8.45 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, pan-India).

Tata Tigor variants in India

The Tata Tigor is being offered in five broad variants:

• XM

• XT

• XZ

• XZ Plus

• XZ Plus Lux

All these variants have the petrol engine option however the CNG kit is available XT variant onwards. The AMT option can be had with all variants except the base-spec XM and the top-end XZ Plus Lux.

Which variant of Tata Tigor is best?

The XZ Plus variant of the Tigor is worth the money if you want your car to be well-loaded. It has a 10.25-inch infotainment display, a rear parking camera, auto AC, auto headlights and an 8-speaker sound system. It's the one-below top-spec variant and the top-end doesn’t add a lot in extra. That said, if you are okay with a smaller 7-inch infotainment, the mid-spec XZ variant is also a good option to look out for.

The Tata Tigor is a sub-4m sedan that measures 3995 mm in length, 1677 mm in width, 1532 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2450 mm. The Tigor features a sleek and compact design with a coupe-like sloping roofline. Its LED headlights with DRLs, stylish grille with horizontal strips and chrome accents give it a premium look.

Tata Tigor Engine and transmission options

The Tata Tigor is equipped with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine available in two powertrain options:

• Petrol - generates 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.

• Petrol-CNG - delivers 73.5 PS and 95 Nm of torque, once again paired with either a 5-speed manual or a segment-unique 5-speed AMT.

Tata Tigor Safety 

The Tata Tigor was crash-tested by Global NCAP in 2020 where it scored a four-star crash test safety rating.

The Tata  Tigor’s safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-hold control, and a 360-degree camera.

Tata Tigor Colour Options

The Tata Tigor comes in five different monotone colour options:

• Meteor Bronze

• Arizona Blue

• Daytona Grey

• Pristine White

• Supernova Copper

The Supernova Copper gives a shade of sportiness to the car. If you want something more sophisticated you should opt for the Daytona Grey. That is also less prone to dust compared to the other colours.

As of now, the Tata Tigor doesn’t have any special edition on sale.

Should you consider the  Tata Tigor? 

The Tata Tigor, with its 4-star safety rating and strong value-for-money proposition, remains a solid choice, especially with the availability of a CNG AMT option. However, it is starting to gets a bit old compared to its rivals. As the Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze have been updated, the Tigor faces stiffer competition.

What are alternatives of Tata Tigor to consider?

The Tata Tigor rivals the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze. For those looking for an electric alternative, Tata Motors also offers the Tigor EV, with prices starting at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).

What are the service interval and warranty details of the Tata Tigor?

The Tata Tigor comes with a standard warranty of 24 months or 75,000 km, whichever comes first. This can be extended for an additional 12 or 24 months, with a maximum limit of 1 lakh km.

For service, Tata Motors provides three free services (labour only):

• First service: 1,000-2,000 km or 2 months (whichever is earlier)

• Second service: 7,000-8,000 km or 6 months

• Third service: 14,500-15,500 km or 12 months
