- A Combo of Power and LuxuryToyota Innova is a car I dreamt of from the time I was a kid. The popularity of the car says it all. I was able to get my hands on the Innova from November 2014 and since then, I haven't thought of owning another car within the same price range. Engine: I drive the 2.5 VX Diesel which produces a sufficient amount of power in city as well as on highways, unlike the other MUVs that produce more power unnecessarily. The only downside is that the engine is not well refined in terms of sound which becomes very loud after crossing the speed of 110 KPH.Comfort: There's no doubt that the Innova is the best MUV in its class for the luxury it provides. The captain seats in the second row are a boon to the car. My usual 700 km straight trips are not tiring at all. The car does not disappoint the driver as well as the passengers at high speeds. Even though the third row seats are not comfortable for long trips, they are definitely better than its competitors and provide lots of space for luggage when folded. Not to forget, the powerful AC with individual air vents for all the three rows could not be better.Styling and Interior: The 2014 face-lift was the best of all. The enlarged front grill gives it a brighter look, unlike the predecessor. Even though it is a typical MUV when it comes to styling, it does grab some eyes on the road. The dual tone interior of beige and grey is pleasing to the eyes. The quality of plastic used is very decent which does not look cheap at all. The wood finish plastics on the central console and doors give a premium look to the car. The integrated sound system with a touch screen and rear camera display are perfect. The steering mount audio controls work just fine. Even though the glove box is a bit small, there are tonnes of other places for storage, like the sunglasses holder, a storage box behind the handbrake and lots of bottle holders to stay hydrated. Mileage: My city driving involves driving in crowded areas with a heavy usage of the clutch and breaks. But keeping in mind the size of the car, 10.5 kmpl in city and 13.5 kmpl on highways sounds good to me. Value for money? I do agree with the fact that the Toyota Innova has been the costliest MUV in the Indian market. I did hesitate to put in 16.5 lacs while buying this car, but today, I can confidently say that the comforting experience with this car totally justifies the high price. Some desperately needed improvements;- Poor cabin insulation for engine sound at high speeds.- Frequent visits to the service center, not because of issues but due to servicing scheduled at every 5000 kms, Really?- Lack of cruise control in 2014 models which all other competitors already have.Final Verdict: One can never go wrong with this car if they have the bucks to buy it.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
