This home bred automaker was established in year 1948 and since then have been doing incredible revenue generation in the country They assembled their first car in a joint venture in the very next year and then got the sole rights to import Leyland trucks in year 1950 in collaboration with Leyland company based in United Kingdom. After this achievement, the Indian government gave this company official approval in 1954 to manufacture the iconic Comet trucks also known as Leyland Commercial Vehicles in those days. Ashok Leyland was given a license by the government to manufacture one thousand comet trucks per annum. In year, 1967 the company rolled out the iconic double decker bus christened as Titan on the Indian roads, which made commuting simpler for the commoners. This company also innovated the first power steering for the commercial trucks in the country, which was done in year 1969. Another milestone, which was the turnover of more than one thousand million was crossed by this company in year, 1974. Many years later in 1993, Ashok Leyland was the first company in the automobile segment to receive the prestigious ISO 9002 certification, which was followed by ISO 9001 certification, a couple of years later. The company came out with the first CNG based passenger bus, which was given to the popular BEST in Mumbai in year, 1997. In year, 2005 Ashok Leyland was the first automobile manufacturer to get the reputed BS 7799 certification, which was given to them for Information Security Management Systems. Now the latest buzz from the company is that they are coming up with a stylish and charming MPV, which is expected to launch very soon. With this MPV launch, the company will step into the passenger car market and are hoping to carry their legacy forward in the same way ahead.Ashok Leyland is a famous commercial vehicle manufacturer in the Indian automotive market. However, the company's entry into the passenger vehicle segment didn't get appropriate notice from the Indian customers. Ashok Leyland launched the Stile minivan in 2013. The Stile was a badge-reengineered version of the Nissan Evalia. However, due to poor demand, the Stile was discontinued in 2015.The Ashok Leyland brand was on sale in India. It’s famous for its Ashok Leyland Stile models. The manufacturer 8.06 Lakh. There is no official word from the manufacturer on its re-entry into the Indian market.

    First Batch of Students Graduate from Ashok Leyland Ashirwad Yojana the 4-year diploma course from Pantnagar Plant, UK

    Ashok Leyland rolls out their first batch of diploma holders from the Pantnagar manufacturing facility in Uttarakhand. The student graduated are under the Ashok Leyland’s ‘Ashirwad Yojana’ started in 2010. And the country’s second largest commercial vehicle manufacturer has recently inducted the first batch of 135 youth, successfully completed the 4-year Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering Program, in partnership with NTTF - technical training institute. The event was presided over by the honorable Labor Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri H. C. Durgapal.

    Ashok Leyland unveils the 'CAPTAIN' truck series

    Ashok Leyland, the flagship of the Hinduja group and one of the largest manufacturers of commercial vehicles in the country, launched the CAPTAIN series of next-generation heavy commercial vehicles in New Delhi today.
