Enzo Ferrari met Countness Paolina in the year 1923, Count Polina was the mother of an Italian air force officer who use to paint a horse on the side of his planes Countness suggested Enzo to use horse on his cars as a symbol of good omen. Enzo Ferrari opted to get a black horse on his cars with a bright canary yellow background as yellow is the color of his birthplace Modena. Red was the color of Italian race cars therefore since the 1920s Ferrari cars were painted in red.
