FHI established Subaru in the year 1953 and the first Subaru car drove in the market the next year The company rolled their first 4X4 in the year 1972 and the AWD became mandatory for all midsized vehicles and smaller cars in the year 1996. General Motors, the American brand acquired 20% stake in FHI, the makers of Subaru cars. Along with General Motors, Subaru launched their first SUV called ‘Forester’ in India in the year 1997. The SUV was launched in India through CBU (completely built unit) and was marketed under General Motors hood. However, since the American brand no longer holds an ownership stake in Fuji Heavy Industries, Chevrolet-badged Forrester sales in India have ended.The Subaru brand was on sale in India. It’s famous for its Subaru Impreza models. The manufacturer 32.65 Lakh. There is no official word from the manufacturer on its re-entry into the Indian market.

Subaru Thailand, has officially launched the new version at a starting price of THB 1.398 million (approx Rs. 26.62 lakh). Subaru is bringing in what they are terming as the BRZ “Zero Car” or “Opening Car” that debuted at the Japan Rally Championship-2012, held on 28th -29th July. The car is a race sports car which has been customized for rally use. This BRZ “Zero Car is not a production edition of course. It comes with a number of new features like front chin spoiler, rear wings, white finished alloy wheels etc.
