Subaru Forester 2017 Launched at Thailand Motor Show

Subaru has launched the 2017 Forester SUV at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show. Subaru Thailand, has officially launched the new version at a starting price of THB 1.398 million (approx Rs. 26.62 lakh). The vehicle is part of Subaru’s “Is there anything you cannot do?” campaign and promotes the unparalleled capabilities of the car and inculcates faith amongst off-roading enthusiasts. The car was first unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show and will be pitted against the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Honda CR-V.

The all-new Subaru has several aesthetic upgrades compared with the older version. The front profile sports projector headlamps with daytime running lights, a revised bumper, new grille and fog lamps, enclosed in chrome housing. The SUV comes with a drool-worthy set of 5-spoke, 17/18 inch alloys, wrap-around tail lamps and the younger looking trunk spoiler at the rear.

Inside, the cabin is now more plush and comfortable, accompanied by a premium stereo system with LED display, ensuring that the passengers are kept entertained. To prevent any external noise from entering the vehicle, the thickness of the door glass has been increased. The manufacturer has tossed in a range of driving assistance systems ensuring enhanced passenger comfort. The driving modes in the vehicle are sand, mud snow and surface.

The car gets the energy to run from the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder boxer engine, producing 150 hp and 198 Nm of max torque, paired to CVT gearbox. The engine will be offered in 2.0i and 2.0iP trims, and is fuel efficient (delivering 12kmpl). For the power-hungry enthusiasts, a 241bhp turbo engine is also on offer, which would make the car drive like it's on steroids. In India, the Forester was sold under the Chevrolet brand, but it did not last for long in the market. So chances of its being launched seem bleak.
