The 65th Frankfurt Motor Show is all set to kickstart on September 10, 2013 and will be open for people till 22nd September. It is expected that the event will feature about 1000 exhibitors and above 1 million visitors are likely to present during its fortnight in the spotlight. All the globally renowned car manufacturers will participate and showcase their products at the event. There would be a number of hybrids, all-electric, concept models and completely new vehicles presented at the Frankfurt Show. We bring you a list of vehicles to be presented at the show :
Audi - 600bhp Quattro Concept :
The German luxury car manufacturer will unveil an all-new Quattro Concept at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle is expected to be based on the significantly shortened RS7 platform. It will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine that develops more than 600bhp, in combination with a 170bhp electric motor. This plug-in hybrid concept provides a combined output of around 800bhp and 1000Nm of top torque, which will be transmitted to a permanent all-wheel drive system. It is also said that the vehicle will sprint to 100kmph from stand still in mere 3.4 seconds, and is capable of attaining a top speed of 300kmph.
Aston Martin - V12 Vintage S and Vanquish Volante
The ultra-luxury British luxury car manufacturer will showcase the new V12 Vantage S and Vanquish Volante at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. The V12 Vantage S is the brand's fastest accelerating production car to date, taking just 3.9 seconds to sprint 0-100kmph. The vehicle is powered by the new 565bhp AM28 6.0-litre V12 engine, and is capable of attaining a top speed of 330kmph.
The Vanquish Volante has the true sporting capability, and is blessed with all the technical, engineering and design advances. Under the hood, the same new AM11 6.0-litre V12 engine will be offered, which also does duty to Coupe and offers blistering performance figures, top speed stands at 294kmph.
BMW - i3, 4 Series Coupe, new X5, Concept X5 eDrive and new 5 Series -
The German luxury car manufacturer will unveil i3, 4 Series Coupe, new BMW X5, Concept X5 eDrive and new BMW 5 Series. The BMW i3 is the world's first premium car to get an all-electric mobility. The electric motor develops 170bhp using power supplied by a lithium-ion battery. The 4 Series Coupe has a perfectly balanced structure, a low centre of gravity and powerful engines. The vehicle will be available with multiple engine options at the launch. The new BMW X5 is the third generation model of the world's most successful sports activity vehicle, which now offers excellent drivability, variability and luxury.
The BMW Concept X5 eDrive is a combination of driving pleasure provided by the intelligent all-wheel-drive system xDrive and a luxury ambience with a plug-in hybrid drive concept. The vehicle has the ability to hit speeds of up to 120kmph (75mph) on electric power alone. The all-new Concept Active Tourer Outdoor comes with a compact exterior dimensions, excellent interior space, sporty characteristics and innovative features. The new 5 Series comes with a smart modifications, additional drive system variants and a host of innovations from BMW ConnectedDrive.
Ferrari - 458 Speciale
Ferrari will unveil the third version of the famous 458 Italia, the Ferrari 458 Speciale at the coming Frankfurt Motor Show. The company has built its most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever (605 cv) with an extraordinary power output of 135 cv/l. The 458 Speciale can accelerate to 100kmph from stand still in a mere 3.0 seconds (0-200kmph in 9.1 seconds).
Honda - Civic Tourer
Honda, the Japanese automaker will unveil the Civic Tourer at the coming Frankfurt show. The vehicle will feature either the 1.6 i-DTEC engine from the Earth Dreams Technology series or the 1.8 i-VTEC engine in manual or automatic transmission. The Civic Tourer also gets a new Adaptive Damper System (ADS).
Hyundai - next-generation i10
The South Korean automaker has recently unveiled the Grand i10 in India, and is now all set to unveil the next-generation i10 for the UK market at the upcoming auto expo. The new i10 is 80mm longer and 65mm wider and 50mm lower than the current model.
Infiniti - Q30
Infiniti will present its Q30 Concept at the Frankfurt auto show in September. The Infiniti Q30 Concept signals the contemporary design vision for a compact Infiniti vehicle, which will target a new generation of premium customers.
Lamborghini - Gallardo LP570-4 Squadra Corse
Lamborghini will unveil its latest sports car, Gallardo LP570-4 Squadro Corse at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. With this vehicle, Lamborghini brings race track emotion directly to the road. This new and most extreme model in the Gallardo line-up is based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo, the successful race car from the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, the world’s fastest onemake series.
Mercedes-Benz - S-Class Coupe, GLA, S63 AMG
The German luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz will unveil the GLA compact crossover, S-Class Coupe and the S63 AMG at the show. The GLA compact crossover will directly compete against the likes of Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Volvo V40 Cross Country. The GLA compact crossover is expected to house the same 2.2-litre diesel and the 1.6-litre petrol engine that also power the A-Class and B-Class in India.
Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG has set new standards in driving dynamics, performance, refinement and technology. The vehicle is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo engine and is coupled with an AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed sports transmission. The S 63 AMG boasts an output of 585bhp and 900Nm of torque and can accelerate from rest to 100kmph in just 4.4 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250kmph.
Peugeot - 308
The Peugeot will be presenting its classic and powerful 308 hatchback at the frankfurt auto show. The vehicle is likely to derive its power from the 1.6-litre turbo engine, which is capable of developing around 267bhp.
Porsche - 918 Spyder, Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet
Porsche, the ultra luxury car manufacturer unveiled the 918 Spyder at the recently held Goodwood Festival of Speed, and will also make its public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Along with 918 Spyder, the company will also unveil the 911 Turbo Cabriolet at the show. The 918 Spyder derive its power from the 4.6-litre, eight cylinder engine that produces 612bhp. The engine is also linked to a 115kW, hybrid module on rear axle and 95kW, electric motor on front axle, making a combined power generation of 887bhp. The powertrain is mated to a seven-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK), ensures hassle free driving.
Skoda - Rapid Spaceback, Yeti facelift
The Czech automaker is all set to unveil the Rapid Spaceback, and the two new variants of the Yeti at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The two models of the Skoda Yeti compact SUV will be unveiled, out of which one will be an elegant one for the urban usages, while the other will be an adventurous off-road Skoda Yeti.
