To make the upcoming Indian Auto Expo bigger than ever, for the first time the Auto expo for automobile manufacturers and auto component makers will be held separately at Greater Noida and Pragati Maidan respectively in February 2014. The Greater Noida centre near New Delhi will host automobiles including four wheelers and two wheelers, the Pragati Maidan venue will host components makers. The motor show will be organised at Greater Noida from February 5-11, while the component show will continue to be at Pragati Maidan from February 6-9, 2014.

“With the increasing participation of exhibitors, visiting auto enthusiasts and paucity of space it was very difficult to cope at Pragati Maidan venue. It has been decided that the 2014 edition of Auto expo will be held at two venues,” said SIAM President Vikram Kirloskar.

Speaking on the shifting of the venue, Kirloskar said, “We wanted to give international feel to the expo to be held next year, so we chose this venue (Greater Noida).” The organisers of the Expo were looking for a bigger venue, so that both automobiles and component makers could exhibit their products in one place.

The number of OEMs participation at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo has also increased to 41 from 35 in the last year's show. Chrysler (FIAT Group), Isuzu Motors and DSK Hyosung are among the new participants. Moreover, few miscellaneous participants such as tyre manufacturers and lubricant companies will also showcase their products at the Motor Show.

The exhibition space next year will be 48,000 square metre as against 39,000 square metres in the last year's event. Expected footfall per day during the auto expo would be in the range of about 70 to 75 thousand people per day. The first day of the show, February 5, would be exclusively for media people.

Tickets would be available online, offline as well onsite and organisers are talking to various organisations including Book My Show, Barista and Delhi Metro for ticket selling.
