This has emerged as a bad news for the motor racing fans across the nation. The Indian Grand Prix is expected to miss out from the 2014 Formula 1 calendar. The event was first introduced in 2011, but the participants or teams have been regularly concerned about excise and taxation issues.
According to media reports, comments from various sources suggest several reasons for the F1 race not to be organized in India. Few of the reasons are Tax issues, political problems, and manufacturer dissent at the number of races, which indicates the Indian Grand Prix might not happen from 2014.
The government of India has not issued any custom relief to the teams as it does not consider F1 races to be a part of sport. "Is India going to happen next year? Probably not," Ecclestone told Reuters in Hungary. "[It's] very political." India will host its third grand prix in October this year.
