The German auto giant, Volkswagen, have showcased a four door Coupe Concept GTE. The futuristic plug-in hybrid is meant to enlighten people with VW’s thoughts for the coming days. It projects the Wolfsburg based company’s future progressive design language.
This all new four seated concept GTE excites with its lean, mean aggressive design and looks quite close to a sports car. It derives its underpinnings from VW’s MQB platform and is powered by a V6 TSI and two electric motors. The system develops a cumulative power of 374.8 bhp, but a combined fuel consumption of mere 2 litres per 100 kilometer.

Front side of this Coupé is marked by the presence of a singular unit that incorporates radiator grille, headlights and VW badge with such attitude that other cars might just want to be like it. Besides, there is a long bonnet with elegant lines running towards the windscreen that meets the raked A-pillar from which the roofline extends towards the rear taking a smooth curve. Despite being made with a low roofline, this concept is said to have good headroom for four passengers and a generous boot space of 480-litres.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Heinz-Jakob Neußer, member of the board of management for Development at Volkswagen said that, “This concept is a breathtakingly dynamic Coupé, which will set standards in this class and offer a persuasive alternative to the classic saloons of the B and C segments.”
