With the commencement of 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, there are many exciting cars making their way to us. Automakers from across the globe have lined up their best offerings and exciting concepts to be showcased to the world once again. So, here’s a look at what the 2015 Tokyo Motor show has to offer.

Suzuki IGNIS

Suzuki’s upcoming IGNIS concept is a compact car and is definitely a looker. It flaunts a retro-modern interior and also comes with an impressive ground clearance, which will definitely come into play tackling those pesky road bumps. Suzuki has also designed this car to enhance its off-roading ability that will facilitate the car in treading over adverse terrains and snowy roads. This is one offering, which is all set to stand true to the compact-crossover genre.

Suzuki is all ready to stand out, in context of general Auto-show protocol by showcasing a concept version of its IGNIS concept. The IGNIS-Trail Concept expands will feature larger wheels, which will come paired with bold wheel-arch mouldings. Other subtle aesthetic updates also include contrasting color schemes that highlights and enhances the overall look of the car.

MINI Cooper S Convertible

MINI is also showcasing its MINI Cooper Convertible at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The car will go on sale in March next year and will cost around £18,475. The top-of-the-range Cooper S model will feature 189bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The major highlight of the updated car is the fully electric roof which is improved from the previous version and can be retracted in 18 seconds at a speed of 30kmph while there is also new sensor based roll over protection system.

BMW M4 GTS

BMW M4 GTS

The BMW M4 GTS has made its debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The car is BMW’s M division’s most performance oriented offering and quite pricey as well costing 142,000 Euros, second only to the BMW i8 in terms of price. The car features 493bhp and a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 3.7 seconds. The vehicle is available in Frozen Dark Grey Metallic, Mineral Grey metallic, Sapphire Black Metallic and Alpine White. The 20-inch alloys are painted in Acid Orange.

CIVIC TYPE R

Honda aimed at producing the fastest front-wheel-drive production automobile and went to work to accomplish just that with its Civic Type R. The aesthetics are designed to exude appeal of a sports car, while maintaining optimum aerodynamic characteristics. The car features a new 2.0-L VTEC Turbo engine, which delivers 310bhp and 400Nm of torque. The powerplant is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Honda is also going to make a splash with an all new model of its globally revered NSX sports car. The car carries on the same DNA from the first-generation NSX, while incorporating a more lightweight body, new twin- turbocharged inline V6 engine, which is installed in a midship configuration. The car also features, what is known as a three-motor SPORT HYBRID SH-AWD® (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) powertrain that makes sure the driver gets the ultimate driving experience, while staying environmentally friendly. The powerplant is mated to a 9-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. Each front wheel is coupled to its own independent, highly efficient electric motor. The SPORT HYBRID SH-AWD® uses advanced torque vectoring, which distributes power to all four wheels.

F-PACE

Also making an appearance is the Jaguar’s SUV F-Pace. The car features a stiff and sturdy Lightweight Aluminium Architecture, which helps it deliver efficiency, agility and refinement. The car features a powerful design, F-TYPE-derived chassis technology and cutting-edge driver assistance and safety systems. In terms of creature comforts, the car also comes with InControl Touch Pro, which happens to be the world’s most advanced infotainment system.

Swift RS

Last but definitely not the least is a familiar face, the Suzuki Swift in its Suzuki Swift RS incarnation. The car flaunts a red color scheme, a new grille, new headlamp cluster with blacked-out casting, projector headlamps, DRLs around the foglamp cluster, all around side skirtings, rear spoiler, a new tail lamp cluster setup and different set of alloy wheels. Under the hood, the car features the same 1.2 litre petrol engine with a higher compression ratio, which helps the car produce 91 PS@6000rpm and 118Nm@4400rpm of torque.
