April: Month of discounts and offers

After witnessing the downfall in last fiscal of Indian auto sector, manufacturers have decided to continue the discounts and offers they were presenting in the month of March besides addition of few others. Recently, Indian government reduced the excise duty on cars but that too has failed to provide any growth in sale numbers. With the commencement of new financial year, auto-makers in order to increase sales are offering discount and rebate on the ex-showroom prices along with exciting offers such as zero percent interest rates, flexi finance schemes, free or 1 Re insurance, low down payment, etc. To get a clear picture, lets have a look on the recent discounts offered by major manufacturers.
Maruti Suzuki:
India's largest car manufacturer is not new to the sluggish Indian economy. Company in order to boost the sales has offered discount on various models. Apart from the recently launched Celerio, which is also said to be attracting a waiting period of over 4-5 months, all the other models features massive discounts and cost benefits. For instance, Swift diesel is offered with a saving of Rs 50,500 while the bigger sis Swift Dzire is getting a discount of Rs 43,000.
Moreover, CNG variant of WagonR gets a discount of Rs 72,100. Apart from the mentioned rebate, the WagonR bears a 2 year warranty along with excise benefit of which brings its ex-showroom price to Rs 3.49lakhs. The other Maruti cars that are being offered with discounts include names such as the SX4 that features Rs 91,500 discount followed by A-Star with Rs 66,500 off, Estilo Rs 61,500, Stingray Rs 63,000, Ertiga Rs 41,500, Ritz Rs 36,500, Omni and EECO having Rs 11,500 as a benefit.
Hyundai:
Hyundai is cashing up the 2014 FIFA Football World Cup, Brazil. The company is offering “Ball in Brazil” in which after buying a Hyundai car, one can get a chance to fly Brazil for the FIFA World Cup starting from 12th June, 2014. Apart from the Brazil offer, the Korean manufacturer is providing lucrative discounts on every model except the recently launched compact sedan Xcent, Grand i10 and 2014 manufactured Sante Fe and Sonata.
Moreover, under the “Attraction of April”, the company is offering a saving of upto Rs 28,250 on Eon while Santro attracts discount of Rs 24,000. In premium hatch segment, Hyundai i10 gets an attractive bonus of Rs 35,000 while i20 gets a discount of Rs 32,000. In saloon segment, Verna and Elantra attract huge savings of Rs 43,000 and Rs 53,000 respectively while the 2013 manufactured Sonata gets a rebate of Rs 1,39,000. In the SUV segment Santa Fe (made in 2013) gets a discount of Rs 1,45,000.
Fiat :
Fiat India is too offering an exchange bonus of atleast Rs 1lakh on the old car. The exchange is provided only on Punto and Linea Classic, the 2014 Linea is left out from this offer. However, the offer was valid from 24th April to 29th April, but as we spoke to the dealers, they confirmed that the offer is still valid and is expected to be for one or two days. Adding an icing on cake, many dealers are also offering Re 1 insurance.
Chevrolet :
The manufacturer is offering flexi payment scheme which includes zero down payment and attractive insurance. In the hatchback segment, Spark and Beat are offered with zero down payment plus free 3 year Chevrolet promise and free extended warranty for the fourth year. Adding more is the free insurance for first year. While in the Sail, Sail Sedan and MPV Enjoy free insurance is not offered.
