Aston Martin turns 100 in 2013; DBS saga to end with Ultimate Edition

Yes, Its not everyday that a company completes 100 years, its a special ocassion,a once in a life time experience and should be marked with golden words, all this build up is for the Sports car company Aston Martin that is going to celebrate its 100th birthday in 2013 and the company plans to roll out special edition birthday models. Reports say that the company is going to roll out the Aston Martin DBS Ultimate Edition based on the current available Aston Marin. Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez says that this will be a newbie and the company had to make the occasion all the more special, the model that is going to mark the centenary is not a DB9 with the Centenary Edition Badging or limited edition like the One-77 supercar.
Aston Martin believes in extravaganza that is why the company is planning a year long celebration to mark its hundredth anniversary. The reports suggest that the newfangled car will be the current DBS will come with a 5.9-liter V-12 engine pumped up to 550 hp, compared to 510 hp in the standard model. The car would be showcased this summer and the company officials say that the centenary model is going to be a streamlined trim and not an extreme one like the One-77 supercar or Cygnet city car. However the company guarantees that the car will have more fun factor and not just a unique badge adorning one. The market expects to see the centenary model by early 2013, and will be rolled out in the US market only.
Aston Martin has earlier sold two special editions of the DBS: the UB-2010, which was unveiled at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show 2010 ; and the Carbon Black Edition — which consequently became simply the Carbon Black when it was made available in colors other than black. Amongst this fun and frolic, earth-shattering news coming from the brand is that Aston Martin DBS, the sports car is soon going to phase out. Apparently, Aston Martin has planned a grand exit for the car; the British marquee has planned a special edition of the DBS sportscar which will be V12 powered. The new special edition, christened as Ultimate Edition of DBS, Aston Martin DBS is not a car to easily fade out as the light of the day, and the outgoing model is leaving footprints on the memory of every sportscar fanatic and will be missed with a grief.
Aston Martin is planning to roll out 100 DBS Ultimate Edition out of which thirty are meant for the US market only. The 100 Ultimate Editions will come with new paint job, inimitable wheels and more artillery than seen on the conventional DBS. The car will be available in both Coupe and Convertible trims and will come mated with 6 speed Touchtronic transmission and no manual alternative is in the offering. Aston Marin DBS is just 5 years old; the cladding is English but the heart belongs to Germany. The car also had its fair share of fame as it featured in the famous James Bond movies Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Powering the speedy beast is a massive 5935 cc V12 powertrain that churns out 510 bhp peak power and 570 Nm of torque. The car will give you an adrenaline rush with its top speed of 310 kmph and its ability to accelerate from 0-100 in a mere 4.3 seconds.
