Audi A4 gets leaner after Mahindra Scorpio

Recently we saw an unusual trend of bulky styling of new cars. There were many launches from top auto makers which exhibited a high weight car models. This big increase in weight was mainly because of ample of features embedded in the car models. But now seems that the scenario is changing as the carmakers are working towards car models with reduced weight.

Earlier the cars were getting stuffed with number of features in order to resist the sky touching competition but now the car manufacturers are paying attention to the increased weight of the car models which affect the engine performance at a great scale. Recently launched Toyota Etios Sedan astound the users by offering a weight of 930 kilo which way lighter than most of the compact cars in Indian auto market.

Recently we got the news that Mahindra’s T026 project is started by the company which is aimed at reducing the weight of Mahindra Scorpio SUV by around 200 kilos. Coming to the latest launch from German luxury car maker, Audi A4 on which the company is planning to work in order to trim down the weigh figures. In the year 2015, we will see a complete new avatar of Audi A4 which is to astound the world with a striking 150 kilos lighter weight than the existing model. The company is targeting this reduction in weight by the use of more aluminum along with other high end technologies to reduce the overall weight of this stunning car.
