Audi India Eyes 45 Percent Growth in The Current FY

Audi India Head Michael Perschke reported that the German luxury car maker is planning a 45 percent growth in sales in the Indian automobile market. The company is also introducing its global customer oriented programme, “Audi CarLife-Advance” under this plan to increase the customer base for the country. Perschke added further that the company is set to target the sales of over 8,000 units and is confident enough after looking at the last year sales figure of 5,511 units. The reason according to Perschke for the confidence in forecasted sales is the hike in the prices of the luxury cars in India due to increase in the excise and import duties.

Perschke also said that the cars of Audi are assembled in India itself and the price hike is only 3 percent, while the cars which are imported as completely built units (CBU) have got a 13 percent rise in their prices. Audi A4, A6 and Audi Q5 are certain models which are assembled in India and are available in the price range of Rs. 27.85 lakhs to Rs. 47.68 lakhs (ex-showroom cost Delhi). But at the same time the fully imported models like TT, Q7, RS5, R8 and R8 Spyder are ranging between Rs. 49.48 lakh to Rs. 1.7 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The annual reports of the company said that the January-April period sales were of 2,831 units for this year, which was 43 percent more than 1,986 units for the same period last year. Audi Audi CarLife-Advance is a customized product, which has been meant to offers car financing, extended warranty, insurance and service plans. The only reason to initiate such programme by Audi India is to increase the customer base in the country.
