Audi is set to bring another revolution in the automobile world. The German car maker is all set to bring in the new digital rearview mirror technology that is used in the race-bred R18 to the production R8 e-tron. This would be a 7.7-inch screen monitor, diagonal mounted in place of a conventional rear-view mirror that is used to display the digital image from the camera. These will be more-energy efficient, lighter than conventional LCD monitors.
The driver can deactivate or dim the display according to the requirement. The display used is courtesy Samsung. This rear view mirror made its debut in the R18 e-tron Quattro and R18 ultra race cars, at the Le Mans 24 hours.
