Audi R18 e-tron Quattro proved victorious in the 4th race of the FIA World Endurance Championship, WEC. First Audi wrote the history after winning with a hybrid for the first time at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With this race Audi R18 proved its mettle as it took only six pits stops.
Audi R18 which was driven by Andre Lotterer, Marcel Fässler and Benoit Tréluyer didn’t get it easy and were constantly pushed by Toyota Racing TS030 of Alexander Wurz, Kazuki Nakajima and Nicolas Lapierre. Audi now holds an indisputable lead in the WEC Manufacturer’s Championship. The fifth round of the WEC is to begin soon.
Coming to the hybrid, the R18 e-tron Quattro is the hybrid version of Audi R18 ultra. The e-tron comes with six automatic modes which are driver selectable on the steering wheel.
These modes administer engine mapping, short bursts accelerating from corners, Quattro four-wheel drive, wet weather, etc.
