Auto Industry Registers Lower Growth in November 2010

The Indian Auto Industry figures from April to November 2010 reveal some interesting facts. The total production in the period experienced a hike of 30.29 per cent over the same period last year. Coming to November 2010, a growth of 13.14 per cent was observed in sales as compared to November 2009 figures. The news is not all good as the total production and domestic sales took a low swing as compared to October 2010.
A growth of 32.08 per cent was observed for April- November 2010 in the passenger vehicles segment as against same period last year. Another hike of 20.26 per cent was recorded in utility vehicles and a striking 50.75 per cent in the multi purpose vehicles (MPV) for April to November 2010 period. A hike of 35.16 per cent was observed in the overall segment of commercial vehicles for the period of April to November 2010 as against same period from last year and also a jump of 25.80 per cent for the light commercial vehicles (LCM). Medium and Heavy commercial vehicles recorded a hike of striking 47.36 per cent.
The figures from three wheelers segment also posted a good news for its manufacturers while maintaining a growth of 18.41 per cent for the period of April to November 2010. And another good growth of 21.53 per cent from Passenger Carriers for the same period as against that of last year with Goods Carrier showing 5.85 percent jump.
The two wheelers market in India also celebrated the good time with a growth of 27.84 per cent for the period of April to November 2010 where Mopeds, scooters and Motorcycles got 22.95 per cent, 49.07 per cent and 24.31 per cent respectively. All major two wheeler producers made launches in this period to get their share of pie.
April to November 2010 was a good period for the automobile exports as well as a striking growth of 34.19 per cent was also recorded in the segment. And at a sad note, a low swing of 1.64 was registered with Passenger Vehicles. And coming to overall figures, the two-wheelers, three wheelers and commercial vehicles got a stunning growth of 40.66 per cent, 79.38 per cent and 78.20 per cent respectively.
