The Hyundai Alcazar, which went on sale on June 18, is already witnessing a waiting period ranging from four weeks to two months, across all major cities. It follows an update from Hyundai saying the SUV has garnered over 4,000 pre-launch bookings already.
Hyundai has stated that the bookings are almost the same for both petrol and diesel variants and equally split between manual and automatic variants. It has even revealed that all three trims -- Prestige, Platinum and Signature -- have received the same number of bookings.
The Alcazar gets ventilated front seats, a voice-operated panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, an 8-way adjustable driver seat, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen system with BlueLink connected car tech. Other features include paddle shifters, an 8-speaker Bose sound system with a subwoofer, a 360-degree camera, and an air purifier.
On the safety front, Hyundai has equipped it with up to six airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, as well as front and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood, the three-row SUV has been provided with two engine options: a 2.0-litre petrol producing 159PS/191Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel making 115PS/250Nm. Both engines will be available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. There will be three drive modes (Eco, City, and Sport) and as many traction modes (snow, sand, and mud) on offer.
Hyundai’s three-row SUV fights it out with the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV500. The Alcazar is priced from Rs 16.30 lakh to Rs 20.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
