BMW has reveled the pictures of the 4-Series concept coupe and finally officiated the already well known fact that the two door BMW 3-Series will morph into the 4-Series Coupe. This new 4-Series will now be a stand-alone model with its own individual design and character and will join the BMW sales ranks late next year.
We have images of the concept version which is a fairly accurate and faithful representation of what the production unit will look like. The dimension details for the 4-Series coupe are out as well and are more or less similar to the dimensions that will be featured in the production unit. The wheel-base has been declared at 2,810mm; the same as that on the 3-Series that it is adapted from. The length is 4,641mm with the width set at 1,826mm and the height being 1,326mm.
The overall impression one gets after taking a look at the images, is that of a broad, muscular car with a sharper curvature than its predecessor. “The front end displays a clear link with the 3-series family, but with a sporting take on the theme with precise contours and multi-faceted surfaces,” says BMW.
The interiors too show that much has been borrowed from the 3-Series, with the instrument cluster, infotainment systems and much of the dash board looking as if they were straight out of the 3-Series. BMW is yet to reveal engine and chassis information on the concept or the production unit.
