BMW India expects to sell 100 units of new X3 every month

BMW India, the wholly owned Indian subsidiary of the German luxury brand is headquartered in Gurgaon. The luxury auto brand, BMW had set up its manufacturing plant in Chennai that has the capacity to produce 8000 units per year in a single shift. BMW India is expecting to sell 100 units of the new BMW X3 every month. Therefore BMW India intends to ramp up its production capacity by introducing another shift that can produce 10000-11000 units per annum.

The company has other plans in the pipeline, that include a 650 employee addition to its Chennai plant and intends to create 1200 additional jobs in the near future. The BMW India currently offers BMW 3 series, BMW 5 series, BMW 6 series, BMW 7 series, BMW X1, BMW X3, BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW Z4, BMW Gran Turismo and BMW M series.

The upgraded BMW X3 is launched today in Pune in all-diesel variants. The new BMW X3 is a classy, huge, electrifying model that provides an enchanting driving experience to the users. The new crossover likes to be called itself as the 'Sports Activity Vehicle'. The BMW X3 xDrive20d and BMW X3 xDrive 30d are the two variants launched, both of which house diesel engines that are available at Rs 41.2 lakhs and Rs 47.90 lakhs respectively.

Despite the bookings, the deliveries of the variants will take place only in September for the BMW X3 xDrive20d and in October for BMW X3 xDrive30d, for which the production is to take place in Chennai manufacturing unit. The new crossover will be imported into India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit. The new SUV will be available in the market in eight color options that include Titanium Silver, Black Sapphire, Mineral Silver, Space Grey, Deep Sea Blue, Vermillion Red and Sparkling Bronze. The interiors of the new BMW X3 offers a wide range of color combination that includes Beige, Black, Red Brown/Black, Havanna/Black and Oyster/Black colors and comes with Nevada leather upholstery. Dr Andreas Schaaf, the President of BMW India has commented that the old generation BMW X3 had been a flagship SUV and hope that the current generation SUV with take the same path towards success.
