BMW launches X3 in diesel variant only

BMW India launched the revamped version of BMW X3 SUV today, in the Indian car market, BMW India launched the X3 SUV in diesel variant only. The German auto biggie has rolled out two variants of the luxurious SUV, these are BMW X3 xDrive20d and BMW X3 xDrive30d. Recently Volkswagen also rolled out the new Jetta in diesel variant only, it is being speculated that BMW India might not roll out the petrol variant of the refreshed version.

New BMW X3 price starts at Rs41.2 lakh for the xDrive20d variant and the xDrive30d variant is priced at Rs47.9 lakh. BMW India is expecting to sell 100 units of the new SUV, the company has also started second shift at the Chennai facility to enhance the production to 11,000 units.

Continual petrol price hike and soaring interest rates have contributed majorly towards attenuating the car sale in India, as a result of which the Indian car market is under the grip of stagnancy. Car makers are now mulling to roll out diesel variants of its popular models in order to combat the slowdown in the domestic market. Toyota India is also working aggressively towards rolling out the much awaited diesel avatars of its Etios twins. A perfect epitome of the out stripping demand for the diesel variants is the new Maruti Swift diesel, the diesel variant accounted for the 80% of the total bookings of the new Swift. Diesel car segment seems to witness a rampart growth in India in the coming time.
