The updated Mercedes-Benz GLC will be offered in two variants: GLC 300 4MATIC and GLC 220d 4MATIC
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC is all set to be launched in India on August 9 and the German carmaker has opened its order books. The luxury SUV can be booked for a token amount of Rs 1.5 lakh and will be offered in two variants: GLC 300 4MATIC and GLC 220d 4MATIC. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming new-generation GLC.
Design Changes
The 2023 Mercedes GLC follows the same design language as the latest C-Class sedan. Its basic shape looks pretty much the same but the changes are all about the details. The grille gets a single chrome element, the headlamps and DRLs are now sleeker and the same goes for the tail lamps. The new generation GLC also gets a new set of alloy wheels.
Features
The majority of the significant changes you’d expect from a new-generation model have been made to the cabin. It gets a sloped dashboard which merges into the centre console from which rises a vertically placed 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The 12.3-inch digital driver’s display is a free-standing unit, still lower than the top edge of the dashboard that meets the windscreen. Typical Mercedes-Benz styling elements such as the turbine-styled AC vents and neatly integrated ambient lighting strips complete the feel of the plushy cabin.

Powertrain
The India-spec updated GLC will get a 2-litre petrol engine that makes 258PS and 400Nm, and a 2-litre diesel unit that churns out 197PS and 440Nm. Both these units will be paired with a 48-volt hybrid motor and a 9-speed automatic transmission. The carmaker is offering the new GLC with its 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system as standard.
Expected Price & Rivals
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC is expected to be priced at Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom) and once launched, it will be a rival to the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and the Volvo XC90.
