The premium electric car space in India has just become more diverse, with an electric sedan: the BYD Seal. Bookings for the EV have already been open since February 27 for Rs 1 lakh both online and at BYD’s dealerships. The EV maker is offering the Seal in three broad variants: Dynamic Range, Premium Range, and Performance.

The Seal is available with two battery packs and three powertrain options in total, with both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) setups on offer.
Its smaller battery pack supports 110 kW DC fast charging, while the larger battery pack can support up to 150 kW.
What Tech Does It Get?
Features on board the electric sedan include a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic glass roof.
Its safety net comprises eight airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and auto emergency braking.
Benefits Of Booking In March
BYD has announced that customers booking the Seal EV by March 31, 2024 will get the following benefits: a 7 kW charger installed at home, 3 kW portable charging box, vehicle-to-load power supply unit, 6-year roadside assistance, and one complimentary inspection service. The EV maker is accepting bookings for Rs 1.25 lakh and deliveries are expected to begin soon.
BYD Seal Warranty Details
The Seal EV is being offered with an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty for the battery pack, an 8-year/1.5 lakh km warranty for the electric motor and motor controller, and a 6-year/1.5 lakh km warranty for various other battery-related modules.
