Indian car market is facing hard times for the past few months as the domestic car sales have been pretty lukewarm. Reason: sky rocketing petrol prices and higher interest rates. But here exports have came to the rescue.  Car exports from India thankfully have amplified by 22.39% in the time frame of April to August this fiscal year, which is definitely a good sign.

If figures and statistics are taken into account, the passenger car exports have been risen up to an impressive level in the months of April, May, June, July and August 2011. A whopping 2,17,409 units of cars were exported from India as compared to 1,77,634 units, which were exported in the year of 2010. A part of the credit for the amplification of car exports from India goes to newcomers such as Nissan, which managed to grab huge volumes. On the other hand, Ford India also tried its level best and boosted up its overseas car export by more than three folds during the period of time.

Ford India car export sales increased because of its hatchback car, Ford Figo. Ford India exported around 10,118 units of Ford Figos during April to August this financial year. Even Hyundai India managed to boost up its exports by 1.77%, which means Hyundai exported around 1,07,572 units, whereas in the same time period last year, Hyundai India exported on 1,05,699 units. However, the boost is minor, but a positive sign indeed.
