The car makers are showering exuberant discounts and schemes this monsoon season to woo the customers and increase the footfall in their respective car sales outlets. With high inflation and the increase in the interest rates on the loans, people are concentrating more to overcome the inflation rather than parting with their money. All the auto makers are coming up with new schemes and ideas, like offering low interest rates on the car loans or providing one year free insurance coverage.

Hyundai Motors India is providing in-house loans up to Rs 3 lakhs at the mere 5.99% interest rate on its Hyundai Santro Xing and Hyundai i10 for tenure of 3 years, however, the interest rates for anything above Rs 3 lakhs remains the same.  Volkswagen India is offering car loan at 6.99% interest rate on its Volkswagen Vento sedan. Mr Neeraj Garg of Volkswagen Passenger cars has reportedly said that they have received an enormous response from the customers and have seen an increase of 30-40% in the sales of their sedan car Volkswagen Vento.

The Fiat has come up with a very interesting scheme to attract the customers. They are upgrading the petrol variants of Fiat Linea and Fiat Punto to the diesel variants for free to some selected customers who have booked the petrol variant. Nonetheless, if the customer chooses to retain the petrol variant, he is given the equivalent amount of money of about Rs 1 lakh compensating for it. Few others are lucky enough to qualify for free fuel vouchers for one whole year for either petrol or diesel. All the customers are eligible for free fuel supply for three full months and free 50-month road side assistance along with free maintenance. Apparently, Fiat is covering all possible angles to make the customer happy, holding all the aces.

General Motors India is offering three years free maintenance or 45,000 km, whichever comes first on its Chevrolet underpinning possibly, including Chevrolet Beat Diesel, if the customer pays the stipulated amount upfront, which is in the range of R 14,999 to Rs 39,999, depending on the model. Honda Motors is giving its best shot with Rs 1.75 lakh cut down from its Honda Jazz price tag after its 653 units sale in Q1 of 2011 -2012 after 1050 units until last year. Honda had also sliced Rs 66, 000 from its Honda City sedan earlier to boost its sales. Mr. Jnaneswar Sen , the senior VP, Sales and Marketing of Honda Siel cars India, has reportedly informed sources that with great show from the R&D department of Honda Motors, they were successful in bringing down the cost of Honda City, by cutting down the cost wherever possible.
