Chennai gets hotter with the biggest automobile bidding event from Shriram Automall

It’s not that we want more heat in this blazing summer, but Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL) has managed to pump it up with the biggest automobile bidding event in Chennai. While they have been doing this since 2011, we got a hands-on experience of the bidding process and were stumped by the sheer number of used vehicles that showed up for sale. When Shriram Automall started operations in 2011, its vision was very clear - to be the pioneer for introducing well structured and transparent physical bidding platforms that facilitate the acquisition and disposal of used vehicles and equipment in India. With the focus to bridge the gap between buyers and sellers, and to facilitate value-for-money transactions, today the company stands tall with 34 Automalls across the country with more than 120 physical locations.

As soon as we arrived at the launch, one thing was clear - there were no other bidding events that can match the magnitude of this one. Rows and columns of cars, tractors, commercial vehicles and construction equipment were neatly aligned to be viewed by the customers before they go on to the ramp for bidding. The bidding process is simple - after you make a physical inspection of the vehicles, you can register for bidder book and take part in the bidding. Online bidding is also available and follows a similar process.

When there are so many vehicles to choose from, one can expect great deals and that is exactly the event promises. We were amazed by many deals that were too good to be true. Yet there was a happy customer walking away smiling every time. While the bidders are mostly dealers, the company is working to increase the footfall of individual customers. Individual customers will, without a doubt, rejoice at the choice and the deals.

The company is now focusing more in South India as the demand from the customers have been high. With already 13 Automall facilities and over 50 physical bidding locations in the region, SAMIL is looking to expand the reach with the launch of Automalls in Kannur, Mysore, Salem and various other locations.
