Chevrolet Cruze automatic launched

General Motor India has launched automatic version of Chevrolet Cruze in India. The new version is priced at Rs 13.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The one third design of the automatic gear Chevrolet Cruze has been done in India and the rest is completed from other centres of GM across the world. GM India, Director, Power Train Engineering, Rohit Paranjpe told media persons that the automatic transmission is developed by a dedicated section at GM. The particular section has working strength of 700 which was 250 when it start working.

He added that 90 per cent and nearly 50 per cent of cars ran with automatic transmission in US and China respectively. This transmission system is loaded to other car models of BMW, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Volvo and Ferrari. GM India's MD and President, Karl Slym said that in view to fulfil the potential demand in the market, additional shifts will be run at Talegaon and Hallol facility at Maharashtra and Gujarat respectively. He further added that the demand for the automatic gear cars would be increased by 20 per cent next year.
