Chevrolet Cruze Automatic to launch in India

Chevrolet Cruze, which was launched earlier this year was welcomed by the users in the Indian market and has continued to do well.Given the response, General Motors has decided to launch another model with automatic transmission in it in a few months. P Balendran, Vice President, GM India disclosed,Our automatic transmission variants of the existing models are delivering good volumes and we would like to extend the same in our newly-launched Chevrolet Cruze model. Though the company has made plans to launch the model,General Motors have not mentioned the date of the launch explicitly.However,according  to rumour mills,the new Chevrolet Cruze might be launched after the Delhi Auto Expo 2010,sometime around the third week of January. The intention behind the delayed launch is to keep the limelight on the Company's small cars that will be launched at the Delhi Auto Expo and not take away attention from there towards the all new Chevrolet Cruze. The speculated price of the new model of Chevrolet Cruze with automatic transmission is around 11 lakhs. The specifications,however will be unveiled only at the time of its official launch. Users,particularly, women drivers in India are the main admirers of the automatic transmission models.Drivers dealing with urban traffic in general are opting for Automatic Transmission models to drive easily in congested and jam packed roads. Looking at the popularity of the AT models, other companies are following this trend. Maruti has recently launched an AT version of Maruti SX4 in India.
