When compared to the redi-go 0.8, the 1.0-litre engine produces 12PS and 19Nm more.
Datsun will launch the Redi Go 1.0 in India on July 26, 2017. Nissan and Datsun dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for the upcoming hatchback for a token amount of Rs 10,000. Like the Kwid, only the top two variants of the redi-Go, the T(O) and S, will feature the bigger 1.0-litre engine.
The redi-Go 1.0 has the same 1.0-litre petrol engine as the Kwid 1.0. This engine produces 68PS of power and 91Nm of torque. Although the power figures are similar to the Kwid 1.0, it has a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.5kmpl, which is 0.5kmpl less than the Kwid 1.0. When compared to the redi-go 0.8, the 1.0-litre engine produces 12PS and 19Nm more. The drop in mileage is a marginal 0.2kmpl. The redi-Go 1.0 will be introduced with a 5-speed manual transmission, however, an AMT transmission might be introduced by the end of this year.
The redi-Go 1.0 comes with an all-black interior and some added features like central locking and a remote key. Apart from these, it is almost similar to the redi-Go 0.8. The top S variant comes with features like manual air-conditioning, power steering, front power windows, daytime running lamps (DRLs) and a driver airbag.
Currently, the T(O) and S variants of the redi-Go 0.8 are priced at Rs 3.25 lakh and 3.4 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom Delhi). The upcoming 1.0-litre version is expected to be priced at a premium of around Rs 30,000. The redi-Go competes with entry level hatchbacks like the Renault Kwid and the Maruti Suzuki Alto.
