    New Tata Nexon EV Long Range Variants With 45 kWh Battery Get 5-star Safety Rating By Bharat NCAP

    The new 45 kWh variants get the same adult occupant protection (AOP) and child occupant protection (COP) ratings as the previous 30 kWh variants tested in June 2024

    The Tata Nexon EV  was updated with new variants featuring a larger 45 kWh battery pack from the Tata Curvv EV. Now, Bharat NCAP has announced that this new long range has got the same 5-star safety score as the previous versions with no change in the scores.  Let us take a look at the ratings and scores the Tata Nexon EV has managed to get.

    Adult Occupant Protection: 29.86/32 Points

    Frontal offset deformable barrier test: 14.26/16 points

    Side deformable barrier test: 15.60/16 points

    In the frontal offset deformable barrier tests, the driver’s head, neck, pelvis, and thighs and feet received ‘good’ protection, while the chest and tibias got an ‘adequate’ rating. The co-driver’s head, neck, chest, pelvis, thighs and left tibia received ‘good’ ratings. Protection to the right tibia, however, was marked ‘adequate’.

    While all parts of the driver were marked to receive ‘good’ protection in the side pole impact test, the chest region in the side movable deformable barrier test was marked ‘adequate’, with the other parts receiving a ‘good’ protection rating. 

    Child Occupant Protection: 44.95/49 Points

    Dynamic score: 23.95/24 points

    Child restraint system (CRS) installation score: 12/12 points

    Vehicle assessment score: 9/13 points

    For COP, the new Nexon EV variants scored 23.95 points out of 24  in the dynamic test using the child restraint systems. For both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummy’s side protection, the dynamic score was 4 out of 4. While the front protection to the 18-month-old was 7.95 out of 8, the 3-year-old dummy scored full points in its tests.

    On the safety front, the Tata Nexon EV is equipped with six airbags (as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), and a 360-degree camera. It also gets ISOFIX child seat anchorages, front and rear parking sensors as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
