Datsun teases Go Cross Concept Ahead of Auto Expo 2016

Datsun India has teased the Go Cross Concept version ahead of the most awaited automobile event in India, the Auto Expo 2016. The vehicle was first unveiled at the last year’s Tokyo International Auto Show and raised the bar high with its dazzling looks. The teaser also hints towards the early launch of the vehicle in the Indian market, as crossovers/compact SUVs are currently the talk of the town.

Datsun GO Cross concept is based on the same platform that underpins the current GO+ MPV in the Indian market. The vehicle appears to be quite aggressive and muscular from the front fascia while the stylish alloys and body cladding around, lends it a pure crossover looks. Interiors of the car has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to be jazzy and feature loaded as well. The car will be launched in either 5-seat or 7-seat crossover version, or may be both in different trim levels.

Talking about the mechanicals, the upcoming GO Cross would get its energy to run from the same 1.2 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine. The engine will be tuned in order to derive more horses, around 65PS and 104Nm of max torque. The transmission gearbox will be the same 5-speed as available in GO Plus.

Besides showcasing the Go-Cross, the Japanese automaker will also be displaying Redi-GO hatchback. The small car will be an entry level hatchback created on Nissan-Renault CMF platform and will use the same engine as working in Renault Kwid.
