Ever since its launch the Duster has constantly been in the lime light with either booking numbers or winning more awards. And there is no doubt the car deserves its hour in the sun with everything it has to offer. Adding to its list of achievements, the Duster has crossed the 1,000 pre-bookings mark three months before it is to launch in the UK. According to an official at Dacia, the Duster has reached this milestone “before a single buyer has driven a right-hand-drive UK-specification car on British soil" which is quite an impressive task.
Of these pre-bookings, five of the top-selling dealerships are located in Scotland and Wales, with Midlands, South, North East and North West filing the other five places. The pre-bookings opened up on June 28, 2012 with the first deliveries slated for January, next year.
"We always knew Dacia had the potential to tap into a stagnant UK new car market," commented Dacia’s Marketing Director, Phil York. "Our Duster flagship is off to a great start even before we’ve received our first right-hand-drive shipment." Dacia also informed that Renault’s Indian subsidiary, where the UK bound Dusters will be manufactured, has already received 20,000 orders within just three months.
