Renault India, a fully owned subsidiary of Renault s.a.s, France today reported a 10-fold hike in sales in April 2013 at 6,314 units, thanks to overwhelming response Renault Duster has been receiving. Renault had sold 615 units in the April 2011, reports Renault India. Out of total units sold in April 2013, Renault sold a total 5,362 units of its flagship compact SUV, Duster. While others accounted for rest of the sales. Renault Scala, Pulse, Fluence and Koleos accounted for 545, 358, 39 and 10 units respectively.
Speaking about the same, Renault India Executive Director-Marketing & Sales, Sumit Sawhney said, "With a complete range of products and an extensive dealership presence, Renault India has seen both continued growth as well as recognition for our product quality, reliability and efficiency,"
Except the Duster, other vehicles are not contributing much, however the Scala has been doing a decent job for the company despite being an almost similar car to that of the Nissan Sunny. To keep the momentum going for the Scala, Renault recently launched a special edition version of the car called the Travelogue edition at Rs 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Launched with some additional features on the top-of-the line RxZ diesel version, the Scala Travelogue edition will be sold in a limited number till May 31.
The Travelogue edition has been offered with Integrated touchscreen multimedia system with Navigation, bluetooth connectivity, DVD player, illuminated scuff plates, rear sun shade, blinker on ORVMs and muffler cutter, making it an even better product in terms of features.
