Exterior design changes
The overall shape of the Seltos remains unchanged but the facelifted model sports revised bumpers, updated grille and new LED DRLs for a fresh light signature. At the rear, the changes are more noticeable with the new connected taillamps and all the revisions connected to the new rear bumper.
In profile, the SUV looks pretty much the same but it does come with new 18-inch alloy wheels that make it look more premium than before.
Fresh cabin layout
The dashboard of the facelifted Kia Seltos has been redesigned to accommodate the new integrated displays, and climate control panel. The rest of the console design looks the same with its driver-oriented layout and the SUV’s GT Line variant sticks with the all-black cabin theme.
All caught up on features
While the Kia Seltos set a new benchmark in terms of features when it debuted in 2019, it has since been surpassed by new and updated competitors. The facelift adds various equipment that the Seltos needed to catch up like the panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and goes a step further with the dual-zone climate control. The GT Line variants will exclusively come with dual exhaust tips.
The other major addition is ADAS (advanced driver assist systems) which comprises 17 features including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist and lane assist. Its safety kit continues to include six airbags, 360-degree camera, ISOFIX, and electronic stability control (ESC).
It continues to be equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, ventilated front seats, heads-up display, wireless phone charging, LED sound mood lighting and built-in air purifier.
More powerful than ever
The Seltos continues to get the choice of three engine options, each with an automatic transmission choice as well. They are detailed as follows:
Specification |
1.5-litre N.A. Petrol |
1.5-litre Turbo-petrol |
1.5-litre Diesel |
Power |
115PS |
160PS |
116PS |
Torque |
144Nm |
253Nm |
250Nm |
Transmission |
6-speed MT/ CVT |
6-speed iMT/ 7-speed DCT |
6-speed MT/ 6-speed AT |
Kia discontinued the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine a while ago and has replaced it with the new 1.5-litre turbocharged unit that debuted for the brand on the Carens MPV. This makes the Seltos more powerful than ever, even more than its rivals.
Launch timeline
The carmaker is expected to launch the Seltos soon in India, with prices likely starting from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted SUV will continue to take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, and MG Astor.
