Feastive season witnesses a huge rush of car buyers

Dhanteras, one of the auspicious days in the five day Diwali festival marked a record sale of the cars which customers have been waiting to drive back home. The queues outside the car showroom showed the enthusiasm from Indian buyers eagerly waiting to drive home in their new cars.

For Indians Diwali festival is one of the most auspicious times when customers are keen on purchasing vehicles and this day has always witnessed a huge demand in the auto market, creating a mad rush in facilities to deliver cars by this time.

The dealerships were beautifully decorated they welcomed each customer, offered sweets and did not discourage anyone. Few dealerships even arranged for priest for its customers.

Mayank Pareek, the head of the sales and marketing department of Maruti Suzuki, said that, Dhantares has always been a very important day. This time too it was very busy as sales boomed this year. The company expects to go beyond 10,000 car deliveries on Dhanteras which is 2,000-3,000 each day. The retail stores mark a high delivery every time on Dhanteras. He also said that, they arrange for priest in the showroom because, there are lots of sentiment and rituals attached with the purchasing of the new vehicle.

He added that the company prepares for this day much in advance as the sales are bound to go high.

The car sales scored an all time high and the rush was seen almost on all the dealership stores. As per the dealers, it is common every time on Dhanteras, because customers find it auspicious to take the delivery on this particular day. This is not only prevalent in North India but also in South.

Hyundai India, also recorded great sales. The delivery from the retail stores were expected to reach almost to 7,000-8,000 on Dhanteras as against 1,200 cars delivered daily.

As per Mr. Arvind Saxena, Hyundai India, sales and marketing head, the vehicles delivered at this time are more than the other days. He added that, paper work is completed way before the delivery so that it is quicker and easier on the festive day.

The preparations include executives going to its customers and finding out their preferences such as accessories and other required details. They also finish up with all the formalities before time so that, it goes easier for the customers as well as the dealers.
 
P Balendran, General Motors Vice President said that, it is a bumper day for the car manufacturers and dealers and especially for the customers. Great care is taken by the companies as well as the dealers to ensure that all customers take delivery on time.
