It’s been 60 years since Ferrari started doing business in North America and to celebrate the occasion, the Maranello carmaker has unveiled a limited edition model, Ferrari F60 America. Based on the F12 Berlinetta, the F60 America is powered by the same 6.3-litre V12 engine as the former and can race from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds. Only 10 cars will be produced and if you want to buy one, you can’t as all the 10 F60 Americas are already spoken for.
The F60 America combines two things that the Americans love - a V12 and open-top driving. The car comes with a light fabric top that can be usable at speeds of up to 120 km/h. The F60 America gets an innovative diapason design with the classic Ferrari single front grille with chrome finish and integrated air intakes for the brakes. The roll-hoops are leather trimmed and backed by carbon-fibre-trimmed flying buttresses.
The bodywork gets classic North American Racing Team livery, while on the inside, the driver side gets a sporty red trim and the passenger side is done in black. The special Ferrari 60th anniversary Prancing Horse badge gets a place on the wheel arches and also on the tunnel in the cabin. The racing seats feature a stylised American flag motif on the centre of each seat and backrest.
