Fiat has launched Punto Pure at the 2016 Auto Expo, with a starting price of Rs. 4.49 lac for the petrol and Rs. 5.59 lac (Ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel. It is the pre-facelift version of the Punto Evo, which was discontinued in 2014.
Also known as the ‘Grande’ Punto, it is offered with both - a petrol and a diesel engine. The Petrol mill is a 1.2-litre FIRE motor with SOHC valve configuration. This 4-cylinder, 8-valve unit is capable of producing 67bhp at 6000rpm along with 96Nm of torque at 2500rpm. The diesel engine is a 4-cylinder, 16-valve 1.3-litre Multijet, which produces a maximum power of 75bhp at 4000rpm with a peak torque of 197Nm at 1750rpm. Both these engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Punto Pure is essentially the base variant of the Grande Punto (discontinued in 2014), with a few added goodies. Though the show car featured alloys wheels, the vehicle comes standard with 14-inch steel wheels (165/80 R14). It offers 195 mm of ground clearance. Alloys might be optional. Moreover, it has body coloured bumpers, but has black ORVMs and door handles. The interior features black and grey theme. It comes with stock music system along with manual air conditioning.
