Fiat India is working hard to revive its lost market shares in India and launching its new 2013 Punto and Linea today. After the end of Tata Motors and Fiat venture, Fiat started its proceedings alone in India. The company has been facing its worst times ever in India, and came to the last position in terms of sales. Even, Hindustan Motors is doing better than Fiat. The Italian auto-giant needs to have new outlets around the nation to target maximum audience. Now, it feels like Fiat understood the market needs and recently opened its fifth exclusive sales outlet in Noida in January, 2013.
The company is also in a process of opening 70 new dealerships in the first quarter and a total of 100 by the end of this year. The recently opened dealership, Kashyap Fiat, is built across 4,000 sq ft of area and also has a service centre in the same building. Enrico Atanasio, managing director of FIAT Group Automobiles India, said, “ As of now, we have signed 61 letters of intent with entrepreneurs who will be setting up the dealer network”.
The company is currently aiming to make its network stronger in Tier I cities and will open new dealerships in these cities. All the joint dealerships of Fiat with Tata are winding up their operations and opening their outlets individually. However, the joint service network will continue in operations till the end of this year, till the Fiat is able to set up their service outlets.
