Indian auto sector is lately experiencing a boom with a host of launches in the past few years, both in luxury and budget car segment. And this rise in our automobile market is only going to escalate to new heights in the coming times. In 2015, a lot have been introduced till now and a few to name are Datsun Go+, Tata Bolt, Merc’s CLA-Class, Hyundai i20 Active, Mini Cooper S, Renault Lodgy, RS7 Sportback, and the list goes on. To refresh your memories, we list 5 eagerly awaited cars that are about to hit the mainstream in a matter of few months and will do good with their flesh and bones.
Tata Nano
The homegrown manufacturer is planning to write another chapter by adding a Magneti Marelli AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) to Nano. This practical micro car will get the added versatility of automatic gear shifting on the coming Tuesday i.e. 19th of May. Though, the all new transmission will add to the overall cost of the car but an AMT will be worth that money. We have already tested the AMT variant and you can catch the review on our YouTube channel.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio Diesel
Celerio diesel is among the most awaited cars that are only a few steps away from launching. It has been spied numerous times at Maruti’s Manesar plant with the manufacturer’s DDiS badging. Dimensionally and instrumentation-wise, it is identical to Celerio petrol, except for the 800cc diesel that is believed to give over 30 kmpl of mileage. And while doing so, it might produce a power of around 52-58 bhps and a torque of near 140Nm.
Honda Jazz
Another launch that is expected to put Honda’s current joyride on greater pace is Jazz. The car will be more handsomely priced this time, in Elite i20 price bracket making it rightfully desirable. This all new Japanese car looks very striking with the implementation of Honda’s H philosophy that focuses on high tech and high quality interior and mechanical components. Jazz will be getting the now popular 1.5 litre i-DTEC, probably be mated to the 6-speed manual as in City sedan. And on the petrol front, there could be the 1.2 litre i-VTEC that is popular across Honda’s small car range. Launch will take place on 8th July, 2015.
Ford Figo Aspire
The all new compact trooper from Ford, the Figo Aspire, is all set to make it’s presence in India. Ford is already showcasing it in important cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai and is receiving great response from interested buyers. It is a great looking car, adorned by Ford’s latest design language that includes its signature nose, you just can’t ignore that. Moreover, it will be the safest car of this segment with 6 airbags, rigid body structure construction, first-in-class Electronic Stability Control(ESC) and Hill Launch Assist. Powering the Figo Aspire will be an all new 1.2 litre TiVCT petrol and 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engines. Insides will feature dual tone black and beige scheme and the top variant will be getting leather upholstery. The launch could take place by the end of June or early July.
Hyundai ix25
Hyundai's ix25 is the most anticipated compact SUV of 2015, thanks to its good looks and the trust people have generated over time for the Korean brand. The manufacturer has already launched it in China and is currently testing it in India. This statuesque car get Hyundai's latest design philosophy and resemblance to Santa Fe is quite eminent, a good thing though. The exteriors get a stubby nose, up-swept headlamps, hexagonal front grill, sharp shoulder line, wrap around taillights and sporty angular boot lid. The insides looks very Hyundai (in the Chinese version) with layers of plastic flowing from the dashboard to the door paneling. The expected launch could be deeper in the year, while the price will be around 8-13 lacs.
