August of 2014 turned out to be quite an important month for Indian auto sector. We witnessed the sexy Zest from Tata Motors, the Elite i20 from Hyundai, Punto Evo from Fiat, A3 from Audi and wait, the list does not ends here, luxury brands like Porsche and Bentley too introduced Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition and Flying Spur V8 respectively. Moreover, talking about the unveilings, Volvo revealed XC90, Skoda 2015 Fabia and BMW X5 Security Plus among many others. In limited and special editions, Volkswagen launched the Vento Konekt, Maruti Suzuki came up with Alto 800 Maximum, Mahindra introduced the 120km range model of Reva which now comes with power steering. BMW sponsoring the Bridal Fashion Week 2014 has also come with a signature edition of its flagship 7 series.
Apart from all the new car launches, CarDekho organised DealDekho, the biggest used car mela in Jaipur. A total of 500 cars were displayed and more than 107 second-hand cars sold within two days. This successful used car mela recorded more than 6000 footfalls.

Fiat Punto Evo- August 5
The head turner from Italian manufacturer, Punto was the first launch of August and was pitched against the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Swift and new Polo. The automaker also introduced the 90HP sportier Punto EVO Sports.
Price Range- INR 4.55 lakh to INR 7.19 lakh
Engine Options- 1.2-litre petrol, 1.4-litre FIRE petrol, 1.3-litre MJD diesel, 1.3-litre VGT MJD diesel
Audi A3- August 7
The most economical compact saloon from German manufacturer was finally launched which is projected to affirm Audi’s top position in the luxury segment. Based on the Volkswagen’s (parent brand) popular MQB platform, the overall design of the A3 looks quite appealing to young Indian enthusiasts.
Price Range- INR 22.95 lakh to INR 32.66 lakh

Bentley Flying Spur- August 7
Bentley India launched the Flying Spur with V8 engine on the same day when Audi introduced the A3. The Flying Spur is already available with W12 motor and with the introduction of V8 engine, the automaker tries to fillin the demand of V8 powertrain.
Price- INR 3.10 crore
Engine- 4.0 liter turbocharged V8
Hyundai Elite i20- August 11
Hyundai finally updates its i20 model with new Elite i20. The car is based on 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy. The new Elite i20 gets new interior and more safety features. The car comes equipped with large screen multimedia 2-DIN audio system with USB, AUX-in and 1GB storage support, steering mounted controls, AC with advance automatic climate control along with rear air AC vents and engine push start/stop switch. Looking at the current trend of booking, it seems like the Koreans are doing fine with their latest model.

Zest From Tata Motors- August 12
It won't be wrong if we say Tata Zest was the most awaited car launch of the year. The car was the talk of the town right from the day it was showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. Featuring many first and best in class features, the Zest was also quite an important launch for the company, and boy they have done it quite in style. As per the latest reports the AMT model which gets the diesel engine is under the waiting of 2 to 3 months while the top end model gets 1 to 2 months of waiting.

Porsche Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition- August 21
Porsche extending its model lineup introduced the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition. This exclusive variant boasted unique exterior design features in Platinum Silver and a wider range of standard equipment when compared to the existing variants. The SUV embraced sporty design steering wheel with paddle shifters, 19-inch Cayenne Design II wheels with coloured crest, Power Steering Plus and the Porsche Communication Management (PCM), which incorporates a navigation module.

Engine - 3.0-litre V6-T Diesel
