Force to launch 2 variants of One SUV by 2012

Pune-based automakers Force Motors, who had made their entry into the SUV segment of passenger cars with the launch of their powerful SUV Force One in a single variant just yesterday, have two more variants of the same SUV slated to be launched in 2012. The Force One SUV was launched amidst the presence of top officials of Force Motors and the versatile actor Amitabh Bachchan to mark the importance of the event. Prasan Firodia, the Managing Director of Force Motors has informed the media that they hope to sell around 4000 units of the Force One SUV during the first year of its launch, while the total SUV sales is reported to be around 70,000 vehicles in the Indian car market during a year. The Force One SUV is reported to go on sale from September 1st of this year. The Force One price is placed at Rs 10.65 lakhs.

The Force Motors, who are the ace players in the light commercial vehicle manufacturing, which offers Tempos, Matador and Traveller, is reported to have invested around 1.5 billion rupees during the last one to one and a half years to manufacture its SUVs in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. The plant, which keeps the capacity of producing 12,000 SUVs currently, can be increased further based on the demand. The Force One SUV manufacturing has apparently costed 1.07 million rupees to the company.

The Force One SUV was launched powered by a 2.2 litre, common turbo rail diesel Daimler engine that drives the Mercedes-Benz car, which keeps the capacity to generate 140Bhp maximum power and 321 Nm of maximum torque. The Force Motors claim that the Force One SUV delivers the same performance off-road, including the high altitudes and in most difficult terrains. The share price of Force motors is reported to have fallen by 0.78 percent in the Mumbai share market.
