The American carmaker, Ford that is all set to launch the much anticipated Ford EcoSport compact SUV in India, will soon launch the car in Nepal. In fact, Nepali market will get the vehicle as soon as the bookings in India start by early June, a report published in The Himalayan Times Claims. Ford India has recently hosted the media drive in India, in which various global journalists were invited to drive the vehicle before it launches in India. The company is also planning to launch the compact SUV in Australia in December 2013.
Go Ford, which is the authorised distributor of Ford vehicles in Nepal will soon display a demo version of the EcoSport at its Thapathali based showroom. Based on the company's global B-segment platform, the EcoSport has already created much hype all over, due to its looks, great fuel economy figures, advanced features, drivability and low price (expected).
Like Ford already said earlier that the company's India based facility will manufacturer the EcoSport for various right hand drives markets including the Australia's right hand drive region. So, the Nepali market too will get the made-in-India product.
The Nepali market will also get the EcoSport in three engines like India- 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol. Expected to launch in four trim levels, only the 1.5-litre petrol engine powered version will only be offered with a six-speed dual clutch AT as an option along with the a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The other two engine options 1.5-litre diesel and 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol will get a five-speed manual transmission.
Since the vehicle has over 80% local content, so expect it to be priced in the range of Rs 6-9 lakh. This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the upcoming Ford EcoSport. Cheers!
