Mustangs became feasible for RHD markets for the first time with the current 6th gen and Ford decided to offer this iconic sports car to each and every spot in the world and voilà we are getting it tomorrow!

Though not directly said by the American automaker, but the invites were indicating a ‘highly anticipated all-new vehicle announcement’, which can certainly be none another than a Mustang! It was spied on last year, at ARAI facility in Pune, by us, probably there for a homologation process. It was in GT automatic trim and is most likely to come solely with that in the country, as it will be a CBU import.     The latest 6th generation Mustang gets a lot of stuff for the first time, which none of the previous generation had. The apex of it was the addition of a right-hand-drive (RHD) version for the first time in Mustang’s more than half a century of history and also for the first time the pony is stepping out of the Americana. Ford has said that there won’t be a single part in the world, which doesn’t get a Mustang! Besides this, Mustang also gets an independent rear suspension for the first time standing in juxtaposition, when compared to all of its generations. Now, let us talk about the part which will set your heart racing, the roaring naturally aspirated Ford V8, the legacy of this blue collar’s sports car!

5.0-liter Naturally Aspirated V8

Like we said above, Ford India is only expected to offer the GT variant with the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. In the European-spec models, the 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 musters a substantial 416 PS @ 6500 rpm and 530 Nm of max torque @ 4250 rpm. Speaking of the transmissions, India is most likely to get Ford’s 6-Speed SelectShift automatic with paddle shifters, while Ford also offers 6-Speed manual internationally. This engine propels Mustang from 0 - 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds, when coupled to a 6-Speed manual before hitting a top whack of 250 kmph.

See what we did on Mustang’s 51st Birthday!
