Nissan Leaf EV, the fully electric car is the hot topic in car industry these days. The Japanese car manufacturer Nissan is going to display the car at the upcoming Auto Expo. Nissan India is one of the car manufacturers willing to take the risk of bringing an electric car to India. Obviously, like any car manufacturer Nissan might be looking for the public appraisal before taking any bold step. Apart from the Nissan Leaf electric car, the Japanese car manufacturer will also display Nissan GT-R sports car with the fame of the Nurburging race in Germany.Nissan Leaf

The two cars will be the show stealers from the Japanese car manufacturer’s stable who is also expected to bring its entire line-up in India right from the localised Nissan Sunny and Nissan Micra hatchback to the completely manufactured imports-Nissan Teana, Nissan X-Trail and Nissan 370Z sports car for display at the 2012 Auto Expo at New Delhi. It is the first time the auto giant is bringing the Nissan Leaf EV car to the Indian shore which has already made its point in the other car markets like U.S and Europe apart from its stance in its home country Japan. Unlike Mahindra Reva i, which is rather out-casted for its ultra-compact form, the Nissan Leaf EV is a fully grown car good enough to accommodate the big Indian family inside.

The only common string attaching both the cars is the all-electric motor, not like the hybrid cars like Toyota Prius we are commonly used to. It’s nothing but the absence of the proper infrastructure i.e. battery charging set ups in India that makes the electric cars non-viable for the domestic car market. It is rather good to see the Nissan GT-R sports car at the Auto Expo which is considered to be one of the fastest cars among the lot especially after the car has managed to cover one full round covering the entire perimeter of the Nurburging race track within an abysmal period of 7 minutes 30 seconds. It is an achievement in itself to cover the huge race track comprising of four different configurations of loops in different lengths in such a short time as this.
