GM Baojun 630 rumored to hit Indian roads

The auto industry is abuzz with the rumors of the American auto giant General Motors bringing its super sedan Baojun 630. General Motors' Indian subsidiary Chevrolet is a popular brand in India. Popular hatchback like Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Beat have managed to pull the sales figure for the American giant in India. GM now is looking forward at strengthening its grip in the sedan segment in the Indian auto industry.
The Baojun 630 is rumoured to be built under the Chevrolet Optra platform and will be loaded with a Roewe-sourced 1.5- liter four-cylender engine. The engine can deliver 105 hp (78 kW / 106 PS) and an excellent torque of 135 Nm (100 1b-ft). In China the stunning sedan is priced at Rs. 4 lakhs.
Indian auto industry is now on the top of the list of all the auto giants across the world. This potential market is tempting car makers to invest big bucks. In order to create a niche in the sedan segment a battle has been initiated amongst the auto biggies. The saloon segment right now is dominated by Maruti Swift Dzire, with the launch of Toyota's Toyota Etios the competition is going to heat up. In the coming time launch of classic sedans is lined which is further going to intensify the competition.
